There are only two possible causes why an MP3 player is not switching ON.

First, a dead battery. Most MP3 players have built-in battery, and in order for you to test the battery, is to try to charge it and see if the battery can hold a charge. If it's not, then you need to remove the cover of the player and see if you can replace the battery. If the new battery works, then you know the cause of the problem.

Second, if you're able to replace it but the same problem occur, then it could have a loose connection inside.

If you're not sure how to test it, then take the player to the authorized repair shop.

The RCA TH-1602 does not come with a re-chargable battery. It comes with an alkaline battery. It can use any AAA battery that you install. If you want a rechargable battery, buy one and install it. Otherwise, buy any AAA battery to replace the one that came with it.

batterys dead, these usually last for about 12-18 months.
you can probably buy a replacement, but may have to get the shop to fit.

You might want to buy a new battery. I belive you could probably get a new battery at walmart and best buy.
