Okidata Microline 320 works with cover off only

Hello there,
I have Oki Microline 320 Turbo 9 pin printer.
When the cover is off the printer works just fine, meaning all buttons are functioning properly.
when I put the cover on the FF/Load button does not do anything. The LF sometimes works as it should, and sometimes it just loads the paper with non stop. As soon as I remove the cover everything is fine again.
I tried a different cover for the same kind of printer, got the same result.
Does anyone has any ideas please?

I think its time to update your printer. but if you want to keep it then maybe the cover is not put on the right way or it is blocking the process described. in these cases you can't really solve it.

if your looking at the printer as it sits on the desk it is located on the back left of the printer.
