Question about OKI MicroLine 420 Matrix Printer

1 Answer

Oki Microline 420 Network Card

We replaced our network card per instructions from Oki. The instructions indicate that the printer will reset. Flashing red light will then disappear. We have followed instructions and red light is steady. Printer que automatically places all jobs in "pause" mode. Manually deactivating pause mode will not work. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed.
Thank you.

As the alarm is on and steady then you most probably knocked the change lever into a position where it detects no paper loaded. The easiest way to check is to load your paper and move the change lever until the error lamp goes out!

When the alarm light is blinking what other lights are on. This is the fatal error code with the printer.

Remove the ribbon. if still not moving smoothly unit needs service. 3 year warranty on this unit brand new.
If you cannot move the carriage back and fourth accross,

there is a seriuois issue. unit requires service.

Your Oki model does not need drivers, for they are already contained since Windows 98 and up. However, if it still doesn't work, check that the printer emulation is set to IBM and then install a new printer using the IBM Proprinter II/III driver, also contained in Windows.

Be blessed.

This would be the print head pins not moving forward or the ribbon bunched up at the top.
