LCD Screen "out of sync" Sony Cybershot DSC-P92

After 2 years of use my Sony Cybershot DSC-P92 it jsut failed the LCD Screen by showing constant horizontal lines going from down to up part of the screen as well as vertical line from right to left part of the screen. Image seems like a those old B&W TV's that has the Horizontal and Vertical control in the backplane of the TV that you turn to one or other side and you can see the lineas crossing the screen "out of sync". The issue goes more than the screen it self, because everytime that you shoot a picture the image it is composed within the same lines but in a Still Frame (no movement). Any idea?

    Yes... Let me clarify:

    1) I did take pictures and on the LCD Screen, projecting on TV (using A/V RCA Cable) as well as in the computer the image seems bad

    2) All "words and letters" of all the camera menus, picture, setup, movie etc works perfectly... I mean all the texts are perfectly "freeze" and "readable" over the "unfreeze lens/screen image"

    3) I did RESET the camera, change Bateries, etc

I hope this can clarify more the problem

SONY RECALL your camera is on Sony's recall list...I have the same problem on a different model. Sony is sending me a UPS label and will pay for ALL repairs...I originally called their tech support and they did not tell me about the recall..my local camera shop told me there was a huge recall...so I called sony again and suddenly they are fixing it for free. Just call them and say " I am calling about the recall" SONY 1-800-222-7669

I had the same problem with my DSC-P92. I took it to my local stockists and they wanted 200 GBP to repair it. I looked on Sony website and they are repairing free of charge a number of cameras with faulty CCD's. I sent mine to Sony who repaired it free of charge. You have until October 2007 to claim for this though.

I had same problem. I took the battery out and put it back in and it worked fine and has ever since.

Hello, did you check the pictures on your pc? Please check and supply the feedback info.

    Hello,

I am pretty sure that the CCD unit of your Camera has a problem. Please do not worry, but contact the nearest Sony Service. If the CCD is the problem Sony will repair it free of charge. This procedure is called Sony recall.

To be 100% certain please send me the picture to my email [email protected]
