Servicing I want to know how to do power cleaning on epson stylus pro 4800

You can get a chip resetter from any of the places that sell refillable cartridges as I did. Works great. They generally sell for about 10 bucks or come with a complete set of the refillable cartridges. This device will also reset the chip on the waste tank so you won't need to go through the button pushing sequence found in the field service guide - that's the one that Epson doesn't want you to know about or have.

I've just had this problem today. I suppose it could probably be caused by a number of things - and I still don't know what caused mine to stop as it did. However, by going into my printer utility on the computer itself and running a head cleaning

try this turn off the printer

then...

hold the power button and the pause button together, it enters factory rest mode

Make sure that the "Encoder Strip" is clean and in the channel for the sensor located on the back side of the printhead carriage.

Epson is pretty cautious with their proprietary materials.

When you put the printhead back into the machine, did you seat the dampers correctly?

Are you getting a nozzle check at least?
