well, unfortunately, this a secret kept from others by Canon. They dont even have it on their service manual. But do call the number I posted. Canon support are very friendly and will walk you through the steps.

To reset the E000 Error on a Canon Imageclass 2300 do the following:
Press the "user mode" key, release, Press the "Additional Functions" key, release. You should see a change in the display. Scroll thru items, (using cursor key), in display untill you see "#7 PRINTER", press the "OK" key, scroll untill you see "#4 PRINTER RESET, press "OK" key, scroll to "YES", press "OK" key, (you should see an "*" by the word yes), Turn main power off/on. If this does not reset the machine then you will probably need to purchase a fuser assembly for your machine. Canon Part# FG6-8325
