First try using a DVD lens cleaner on the unit and check the game disks for imperfections. If scratches use a scratch fix kit. If the problem still happens even with a new game then your DVD drive needs to be replaced or just buy a refurbished or new PS2. They are cheap now so why not get a new one. Good luck
Hello. Base on you're problem description, and from my own experience, I believe the problem is with your lens. I recommend that you take a closer look in to it. Take it to your local game store and have it cleaned.
try bending the connectores slightly up and down and check if the problem will be fixed, if that seems to solve the problem purchase anothe AV cord for your PS2 also try testing your PS2 on another tv and then let's see if it will solve the problem
i think you should try other modes too like pal and others or in many tvs there is a option auto so the tv automatically select the best mode of color itself.....
