You have a bad water valve. you can replace the valve and it will be fine. I will warn you that working on your machine can be complicated. after you look closely at the how, you may decide that a pro is the best way to go. here is a link if you decide to tackle it yourself.http://www.partselect.com/ModelFrames.aspx?ModelID=467904&ModelNum=WPGT9360E0PL&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=2&Selected=00117836i01&Position=2&mfg=GE&Type=&Mark=2

SOURCE: Ge Profile Harmony Washer doesn't drain properly.

It sound like you have a blocked pump. Remove the pump from the machine and check where do you have this clogged, inside the pump or in one of the pipes connected to it. Good luck!

SOURCE: GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,

Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines. If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt, remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.

What would cause a GE Harmony washer to fill too slowly? The water in cold water wash cycle literally just dribbles into the tub.

The filler hose has a wire mesh filter in it to keep the inlet water from passing particles that would keep the solenoid valve from closing completely. Shut off the water and take the hose off from both the faucet and the washer. clean the screen and check the one in the washer too.

I am finding the soap dispenser is full of water when I begin a new load of clothes. Where is it coming from? What should I do about it? I have a GE Profile Harmony.

Check that your machine is level or set according to the manual.
If it is tilted forwards the water cannot run out of the dispenser under gravity, which is how it empties.

Not enough water to wet all the clothes.

Either the water level switch has bad calibration or the water level tube has lost its air seal and needs to be refitted and air locked. If you do not know how to go about these tasks, call someone with experience. Goodluck, Macgivor

Black residue is getting all over clothing, every load. what is the problem? it's almost like some sort of shavings like off a piece of rubber or something. could it be a seal or something breaking...

Try checking the gaskets where the hoses connect to the water supply and the washer, I have found when they start breaking down they can sometimes almost melt onto the clothes.
