I have just bought a Samsung R700 laptop. I already have a HP Photosmart C3100 printer. I have tried to install the original driver but it will not instll as the computer has Windows Vista

I am not familiar with this printer.

This error is mostly caused by dirty or damaged printhead or contacts. Suggest to follow HP solution below for further troubleshooting.

Just goto in the google website and search the driver for that printer by typing on the search the model of your printer and the brand. Example; HP Photosmart C3100 driver download. The the google will search the website were the driver was located. After that click the website if you see that is the model and brand of your printer. Then follow the instruction when you open the website.

If you do not have the software, you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

After downloading is finished, unplug the printer USB and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

Unplug printer from pc and wall.
Delete the printer from device manager.
Reboot.
D/L driver HERE (select O/S)
Shut down PC
plug in printer to PC an wall
ReStart PC
Let windows recognize the new hardware.
Point it to the file you just D/L when it asks for driver.
