3ccd broken Hi, i'm writing from Italy, i've got a sony dcr-vx 9000e and the 3ccd is broken ( on filming it shows always a little white point, as a pixel burned ) don't have a problem to fix it but i just need the part to change, i'm looking for a secon hand piece or new at low cost. At Sony italia they asked me too much money, thank you for answering or giving any advice,

it sounds like the tinny switch that detects the rotation of the LCD is blocked on the 180 degrees mode. it can be fixed but you need to disassemble the cam ! or may be try a little shock near the hinge... sometimes machines need a little kick !

Most probably you can film but unfortunately you cannot view what you are filming on the screen.
Try filming although you cannot see it. Then try to take what was filmed in to the computer.

"No applicable files available"...what does that mean
The display screen has a grey sort of sideways broken chain on each little film I shot

Problem can be fixed by Reset the camera. Just push Reset switch with ballpen and camera will power up again. adjust the date etc and have fun.

You didnt write camera model and make. any how, you need Head Cleaning Cassette for your camera to clean its video heads. Video heads are dirty/ clogged so camera doesnt show picture in playback. Please dont touch video heads physicaly because it may broken easily. always use video head cleaning cassette.

Sounds like your display screen is broken, but a least it can still record, which is most important; just don't use the zoom feature and point the camera at the action.

There is no problem on your camera, DCR-HC19E is PAL system(European system) DCR-HC20 is NTSC(American system). Are you in US or Europe? I think your TV is NTSC, cause the tape recorded on DCR-HC19E you played has no color. To confirm, connect your HC20 to TV in camera mode, not recording yet, just look at the TV as your monitor, If its in color, no problem, just erase the old video recorded on the HC19E, but if its important to you, you can convert it to NTSC using a PC. thanks

Defective ccd imager!! Sony will replace this ccd imager free of charge. Year 2002 up to 2005 released unit has a factry defect ccd imager. the company recalled these unit and replaced with a stronger version of ccd imager. check it out.
