Tentioned my drive belt on my Sinotec top loaderT1311LS. Now it sounds like slipping ratchet on the drive. How do I set the ratchet on the drum?

If you have tensioned the drive belt on your Sinotec top loader T1311LS and now it sounds like there is a slipping ratchet on the drive, it is possible that the drum is not turning properly. Here are some steps you can take to set the ratchet on the drum:
  1. Unplug the washing machine and remove the back panel to access the drum and motor assembly.
  2. Locate the ratchet mechanism on the drum. It is usually located on the back of the drum and will have teeth that engage with the teeth on the motor shaft.
  3. Check the teeth on the ratchet mechanism for any signs of wear or damage. If the teeth are worn, the ratchet may need to be replaced.
  4. Make sure that the ratchet mechanism is properly engaged with the motor shaft. If the teeth are not aligned, the ratchet may slip and cause the drum to stop turning.
  5. Check the tension on the drive belt. If the belt is too tight, it may be causing the ratchet to slip. Loosen the tension on the belt slightly and see if this resolves the issue.
  6. If the ratchet is still slipping, it may be necessary to replace the drive belt or the motor itself. Contact a qualified technician for further assistance.
  7. Once you have resolved the issue, reassemble the back panel and plug the washing machine back in. Test the machine to ensure that the drum is turning properly and that there are no more slipping or ratcheting sounds.

I have a servis easi-logic washer/dryer 1300rpm, the drum wont turn if laundry is inside but turns o.k when empty, it drains if put it on spin but does not turn the drum

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This sounds very much like the belt is slipping or the motor is malfunctioning.
Belt first.
Belts are not expensive- sorry I do not know how much yours would cost- and are easy to be changed by a competent person:-
REMOVE POWER FROM THE MACHINE AND REMOVE THE BACK.
The motor support bolts should be loosened and the old belt removed. Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD ANY FORM OF LEVERAGE BE USED TO TENSION THE BELT. THAT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE BELT, MOTOR AND BEARINGS- EXPENSIVE!
If it turns out to be the motor, it is false economy to just have the brushes changed although financially very attractive. Experience of others is that the brushes may only last months unless, that is, the motor is totally refurbished at the same time. It depends on how old the motor is and how much wear the commutator has had. New motors are not cheap, though. Ours for a Bosch cost GBP250- but it's your choice!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Heating works but drum doesnt turn.

Try turning drum, or remove top from dryer to confirm if belt has gone. When turning drum there should be some resistance as the belt fits around the drum

Tumble dryer not turning with heavy load

It could be the problem. Check first to see if belt is tight enough and not slipping on drum. The spindle or axle the drum rotates on could be worn out. Try lubricating it if you can.

Hoover washing machine HF7160E

I am a recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years, and this at first sounds like motor carbons, the belt needs to be placed on from the bottom motor pulley first the onto the drum pulley last, not easy to describe in words, anyway start with the carbons, then if they ok there is a module (main PCB circuit board) normally on Hoover washes located top of machine inside front right corner in a plastic casing, look for burn marks. work safe with electrics, always unplug first
