Hi there, My Hotpoint WD52 washer

Hi.

Yes it is fixable. If the machine does not drain, then the cycle will not advance to spin.

The electronic control checks the input from pressure switch (which detects water level) before advancing to spin part of the cycle. If there is a drain problem, then the machine will not spin.

The first step will be accessing the drain filter. Access is located in front of the appliance, behind the trim at the base of the washer. You will find a cap that can be removed by rotating anticlockwise. Be ready to collect the water that will come from inside the tub.

Check also the drain hose at the back. Ensure that the height of the hose elbow is respecting the specifications indicated in manual. A wrongly placed hose will result in water going in the washer drain pump and tub, causing drain problems and no spin.

Below an article I wrote about the no spin problem. If the problem is coming with no drain, check drain filter, drain hose at the back. If they are OK, the pressure switch may need to be replaced or the pump may be defective.

Here the general troubleshooting for no spin: If you have no spin there may be different reasons behind the problem.

Regards.

Ginko.

I have a hotpoint 9912 washer/dryer & whilst

Could be that you have a faulty motor, check the armature for signs of shorting or burning, also make sure that the brushes are contacting the armature, check the connections are o/k in the motor plug, pull on each wire individually, if still no go, and everything else is working o/k, then it look's like you will have to replace the motor.
Please rate my comments.
Thanks

Whirlpool AWZ 412 - Door not opening..

FIRST switch off and unplug.

Pull machine out and remove lid by undoing self tapping screws at the top back. May have to slide lid back a bit to lift off.

Internal catch mechanism will be reachable from top for manual release. You may need someone to push door inwards while you release catch.

Good luck

Hotpoint WD51 fuse issue

is it the motor that got hot?, if so then check the motor carbons for wear, as these heat up when worn, also if the carbons are fine check the pump and filters for blockages, this makes the motor spin while water is still in the machine causing the motor to overheat, and subsequently tripping and blowing the fuses etc hope i have helped a little
