Paper jam how to un jam

In any printer, you un-jam paper by spending far more time than is reasonable in fiddling teeny weeny off-cuts which might be cluttering up the mechanism, or by refreshing the ink or both...

If you cannot see any paper inside the most likely cause is the microswitch that detects a jam has stuck in the on postion or there is a small bit of paper stuck on it look for the switch and un jam or remove the small bit of paper on it

Paper jams can occur for the following

reasons.

???? Dampness

???? Paper curl

???? Incorrect paper setting in the paper

tray
???? Stripper pawls coming apart

un plug the printer them reset it it should start working

Check the paper setting in tray. May be slanted and causing it to pull paper in un-even, this will cause jams. Old, wrinkled paper will also cause same problems.

Well you should be able to pull out the whole sheet of paper. If the jammed paper has a piece missing, then you did not clear the jam completely and will have to in ther and retrive the torn piece of paper.
The source of the jam can be a worn p/u roller or an obstruction in the paper path.

Many printers have a paper jam alert.But you need to remove the jam the correct way. You can't just pull the paper from the machine. If you have the manual--look up the proper procedure to un jam the paper. The machine can detect if the paper is stuck and it will not know it is fixed if the proper method isn't used. The system has a mechanism that loosens the rollers to allow the paper to be removed without damaging the wheels.
