Definitely it is not your computer. When it was given the signal to go OFF, it did but like completely off.

Comment by ohms, posted on Jun 19, 2008Oh one more thing, if the monitor still exhibits same issue after setting your Power Options as displayed above,

check your warranty with that monitor and exercise it.

Yep u got it ! warranty or new monitor

SOURCE: Power Light Blinking & Black Screen

A blinking blue light indiactes that your power-inverter board is not putting out what it should. It needs an overhaul which may be a simple as changing out the capacitors on the boards.
It could go beyong that to transistors or even a bad bulb.
It will have to be opened up to do that.
A picture may show visual signs of damage. If you can take one and email it to me , I'll take a look.

The Dell AS 501 monitor display comes and goes off in seconds. If I switch off and on again, the display comes back and goes off again in less than a second. I repeat this as many times the same monitor...

This sounds like the power inverter is failed.. It's what pumps up the power for the light in the monitor.
You could try unplug the sound bar from the back of monitor if you have the sound bar installed. Just a maybe..
To fix the inverter (replace) is usually better to buy newmonitor unless you do it your self.
The defective LCD Backlight inverter will cause the following symptoms:
  • No Display, but Power Indicate light stay on green (Or Blue).
  • Screen flash on and off and the power indicate light stays on green (or Blue).
  • Dim Display

Systemax Ascent HA3200 RTS won't boot - fans come on - no display

The motherboard seems OK as it is displaying signs of life. The Monitor should display something before booting up, which it is not. Please do the following. 1. Remove the RAM and reinsert the DIMMs into their sockets and boot up. 2. Disconnect the HDD data cable from the HDD and the motherboard and reconnect. Boot up. 3. Disconnect the monitor and reconnect. Boot up. At boot up press F2 and set the PC to default settings. Boot up. Later when you want to apply your settings, keep noting down what you did when. Just in case.

Monitor will not come on. power light is flashing

Connect the monitor to any computer having windows operating system. Load to the BIOS screen, if the display comes up, the monitor is ok, the software or the driver software for the monitor has been corrupted, else if no display comes up, the monitor has gone bad.

Blue power button flashing with blank screen

This is most likely the power inverter board in the monitor - this is common in many monitors. If it started taking longer and longer to display an image, and the power light is blinking on-and-off, that's the problem. You can confirm that it's the monitor and not your computer or the cable by plugging in another monitor if you have one to try.

If it's under warranty, send it back, if not, there are inverter boards for many common models of LCD monitors that are replaceable. The board can run anywhere from $50 on up. Depending on how old it is, you may find it better to just replace it with a gently used one from ebay.

Monitor is black, the blue lcd at the switch does not lite when switch is turned on. The internal fuse is ok. I tried to find a schmatic on I could check the power supply, no luck.

I have the same problem. Took it apart for troubleshooting. Found that if I disconnect the ribbon cable between the display driver circuit board and the LCD panel, I can turn on power and it will stay on. I can turn it on and off with the power switch. With the LCD panel cable connected, Power turns on (power light blinks) then apparently a fault with the LCD panel causes the power supply to shutdown. At this point the power switch does nothing. Now the big question is "Can you purchase a LCD panel?" If so, it probably costs more than a new monitor. Hope this was helpful.
