750 scanner will not scan to Microsoft Word as a Document. I am running Windows Vista and it picked the drivers for this scanner but did not install the director which is what I believe that the scanner needs to scan a document to Word. Is there a fix for this??? Any help would be appreciated.

SOURCE: HP LaserJet 2840 Scanner problem

Yes, but I don't see any actual paper jams. I have a Vista O/S and I've been reading that that might be the problem; the 2840 scanner driver is not compatible with the Vista O/S and HP hasn't produced a solution yet. I appreciate your efforts, thanks.

SOURCE: Save scanned document in PDF

Well I have this problem too.

The HP's link guest posted above is in simplified chinese, for those who doesn't understand chinese, and is too lazy in translating them, here is a brief translation done by myself.

-----------------------------------
HP is acknowledged of this problem, this is basically caused by the incompatibility between HP's OCR engine and form tables in the scanned documents.

"As HP's OCR engine is kinda elementary, and is not supposed for professional uses", said HP, they suggest users to reduce the complexity of scanned documents by limiting the scanned regions. The best way would be by eliminating image objects, or just scanning text within a form table. (Well that would be kinda lame and stupid.)

Well if you DO need to process documents with forms, "Get A Professional OCR software" and forget about HP's imaging software, it's what HP says.
----------------------------------------

Wish this would help.

How do I scan a document?

Do you have the full software installed or just the basic driver from Canon? What OS are you using? http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp240#DriversAndSoftware has the software and drivers. If you installed the OS driver, you should uninstall that, disconnect the data cable and then install the driver from Canon. The generic OS driver usually only runs the printer.

Place the document face down on the scanner glass or face up if you have an ADF. Check that the all-in-one and the computer have good bi-directional communication. (Direct USB connection (if you are using that), replace cables if the printer works but not the scanner and the Canon software is installed.)

If you are using the Canon software, you need to set up the destinations for the buttons and have the monitoring software running. Thus start scanning from the computer at first. Launch MP Navigator and then click on the type of document you want to scan. Find the resolution and contrast that works for you. Use these in setting the button defaults (see the manual from Canon). Then click Scan.

Alternately, with Windows XP, Vista and Win7, you can scan with software that came with the OS. Paint is available on all of these OS versions (File > Import from camera scanner > from scanner). Vista includes PhotoGallery which works like Paint (this can be downloaded for XP and Win7). Vista and Win7 also can scan with Windows Fax and Scan (New Scan).

When you have the MP Navigator properly set up, you will be able to launch a scan from the printer. Press the Scan button and the software will launch.

I hope this helps.

Sterownik vista Mustek ScanExpress 1200 UB Plus

From reading around, there isnt one....But i found this post

I've just installed a Mustek 1200 CU scanner on Vista.

I used the XP driver from the Mustek website.

You have to temporarily edit the registry to make the installer think you have XP

In regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrent Version
Find the "product name" key. Carefully record what it says before you start. (eg paste it into a document somewhere).

Then change it to make it read: Microsoft Windows XP

Then run the Mustek XP installer, and change the registry key back to saying Vista.

The scanner works fine in Photoshop, for example, but the Vista scanning wizard doesn't detect the scanner. Don't think it uses TWAIN?

How to scan something and enter it into the computer?

It will depend a bit on your OS and installation. Put the document face down on the glass or face up in the ADF (auto-document feed). Make sure you have a good data cable (bi-directional communication is needed for scanners) if you are using a wired setup. Scans can fail when the printer works without a good cable. Wireless communications issues can also do this so I prefer wired with scanners.

If you have the full software installed, start that the first time so that you can set the Scan button destinations. Then if the monitoring program is running, you will be able to use the buttons on the scanner to launch the scan software on the computer. Choose the scan type (picture or document) and you get a Preview scan. If needed, hit Cancel and click on Settings then Scan Settings to set the desired resolution and other items. When ready click Scan again. In Scan Settings you will see a item Button Settings and Front Panel Settings (to set what will display on the unit to scan directly to the computer).

If you do not have the full software installed, then Windows XP, Vista and Win7 can acquire scans in Paint (File > Import from Camera or Scanner). Vista (some versions) and Win7 have Windows Fax and Scan which will also acquire scans (New Scan). (You can also acquire scans in Windows Photo Gallery which can be added from Microsoft for Win7.)

Software and drivers are here for supported OS versions: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3737195& . Select your OS in the drop-down menu and click Next. Uninstall any generic driver and unplug the USB cable, if using a wired connection, before installing the full software.

I hope this helps.
