I have a Maytag MAV6200aww washer. Periodically, I have an issue where the washer will fill appropriately and then nothing else happens...completely unresponsive. Nowhere on the dial will it start back up again...on another cycle, rinse, spin, nowhere. Even after I unplug and plug back in, it does nothing. Occassionally, I smell a burning smell but not every time. The only way I have gotten it to start working again is to bail water from it and and keep trying the main knob until it kicks in again. Or just walk away for a few hours and try again. This has happened on full loads and small loads. Any ideas?

SOURCE: The washer will fill up with water but won't complete the cycle or drain. This has happened before, and I would spin the knob a few times and switch the load size selection. It always randomly started

it sounds like a bad timer there....! if after you selected a different load it drained......!

if it didnt drain at all on any mode I would say a bad lid swtich.

SOURCE: Top loading washer that won't aggitate, or rinse.

without knowing more details, and considering it's age , my guess is that you have a disconnection (or a loose wire) to the solenoids under the tub. these solenoids activate the clutch system that pulls it into agitate and spin modes. it might be the solenoids, but rarely do both go out at the same time. it might be the timer contacts or connections behind the control panel. or, it might be the timer its self.
try unplugging the unit and check all the connections.
hope this helps jay

I think my Maytag MAV6200AWW washer has a bad tub seal & bearing

if you have had this unit for over 5 years Then it is TOTALLY NOT worth the repair - if it is only a year or 2 old then call MAYTAG and they may offer a parts/labor concession. average life is 5-10 years now as sucky as that is!!

Water Level and Water continues to drip after cycle has ended.

The water dripping into the tub is caused by the fill valve solenoid not closing completely. The fix is to replace the fill valve. The overfilling of the washer is caused by the pressure switch. Over time the diaphram within the pressure switch becomes fatiqued & fails. The fix for this is to replace it as well... Hope this helps... Bill

Water fills the tub then nothing happens.

it does not aggitate? Thats the cycle that allows the water to wash the clothes. It may be broken, I have had that happen a couple times. I would take the aggitator off and see if the teeth in the groves are worn out, It happen's when used alot. Commen problem and easy to replace.

bolt has 1/2inch head but dont know the thread size is an orderable part 3 to 5 dollors, may not agitate since agitator not on shft to turn
