I keep getting a Communication Failure error stating that the computer is no longer able to communicate with the printer. This occurs on both my MAC Book Pro and my Lenovo ThinkPad. Any ideas on what

Have you tried deleting the drivers & redownloading them again, as they may have updated without your knowledge as many hps have updated themselves leaving us owner unable to use their printer, so we had to delete the printer software & reinsert the cd's that came with the printer & re-pair the comp & printer again....

I hope this helps... If I can assist your further please just comment & I will reply.....

Ink Threshold Exceeded

Sad to say I know how to fix this. 1. Power up the printer 2. set printer's date to the current day. 3. On the keypad press the * and # keys together Now press one at a time 1,2,3 for the code "screen stould display a white backround with 2 lines of info" 4. remove all the print cartridges 5. Press the >> arrow button twice until "reset menu" is found 6. Press OK 7. Select Partially full reset Press ok ( the printer will take almost to minutes before it powers down) 8. Power up the printer and follow the steps. reinstall ink ect...... I don't know why this happens but I sure a lot of printers are in the trash because of this. If you print out a SELF TEST REPORT the dates on the age of the ink Cartridges are likely out of life range. Planned obsolescence by HP can be found all over the web. This could be one of those. HP Photosmart 7280 all in one. When power cord plugged in, printer will not turn on

Sounds like it could a power supply problem inside the printer or a motherboard component failure. It needs to be taken in for servicing. There is no way to tell what the problem is without an internal review.

Printer won't turn off

Check the power supply cords; make sure they are attached properly. If you are using a power strip, surge protector or any other device where the power supply cord is not plugged directly into a wall outlet, bypass them and plug the printer into a wall outlet; see if that changes anything. If that doesn't work, remove the printer's power cord from the outlet and all the other cables that the printer connects to the computer to. Wait 5 or 10 minutes for the printer's CMOS and RAM chips to power off completely. After enough time has elapsed, plug only the printer's power cord into the wall outlet (do not hook up any of the communication cables in e.g. USB, or serial cables, or network cables.) Then press the power "on" button. If the error message is gone, power off the printer. Uninstall the printer and all its programs from the computer. Do a clean install and follow the procedures of hooking up the printer as though you are installing it for the very 1st time. You may have to obtain firmware and/or software updates from HP on your specific printer. You may also have to check with your OS vendor to make sure you have all the updates/service packs on your PC or laptop
