Please follow the instructions given below to troubleshoot the power issue:
1. Connect the printer directly to the power outlet. Surge protectors can actually draw power away from the printer. If this fails, please try multiple power outlets to ensure your specific outlet is not damaged, and make sure the printer is not connected to the PC while testing the unit.
2. When trying to power on the printer, feel the power supply box (if there is one) and note whether or not it is warm. If it is warm, the problem is not in your power supply, but most likely in your printer. If it is cold, the power supply might be defective.

go to lexmark.com look under drivers find your model number and download the drivers and then install them.

The primary problem I see is that the Lexmark x2690 is not a fax-capable printer. It is listed as a Copier/Printer/Scanner. If you are using a different Printer please clarify.

I don't think you have connected the printer as a network printer. If you have just connected the printer to the computer, the firewall will not block anything to the printer. If it says system doesn't meet min. requirements, try increasing the RAM of the computer. That will probably help!

Where is this "stipulation" that you have to send the ink cartridge back? Was there a sticker on the outside of the box? If that were the case, and it is brand new, why can't you return the cartridge to where you bought the printer and have them give you a new cartridge? I have never heard of such a thing and I have used Lexmark printers for years. Is ther a recall on the cartridge? If that is the case, the point of purchase should be required to replace the cartridge. Let me know.

No, a Lexmark # 15 is not compatible with the 2690.

The 2690 uses a #4 (Black) or #5 (Color). Also a # 4A (Black) and a #5A (Color). You can also use a #31 (Photo Print) cartridge.

ok what should do is when you finish printing one page wait for some few mins before printing another page ok. that could help or unistall and reinstall your printer again and apply this method i just showed you. thanks

It sounds like the driver is installed, but not the rest of the supporting software. If you still have the original installation disc, you can use that to reinstall the remainder of the software. If not, you can go to the Lexmark website, select Drivers & Downloads -> Driver Finder. Type x2690 in the search box and it will bring you to a page where you can download the current drivers with the minimal supporting software required to use your printer.

I would check connections and then turn computer off and then back on. Sometimes that can solve a world of problems

buy a usb 2.0 cable they do not come with the cable anymore it is sold sepretly.

Was this installed by disk with software or did you get the driver and software from website.

You need to uninstall the software and make sure the driver was uninstalled. First go to my com,properties, hardware, devise mgr,
and look in this list for the driver,lexmark printer. Now use add/remove programs and uninstall the lexmark stuff, now restart pc, and check devise mgr and make sure its gone,if not just rt click on it and pick uninstall,restart pc. Now run the registry cleaner.


Download this free registry cleaner, its pretty good for free.

Run the cleaner, and then download the driver,make sure vista driver, from page that I post below. Now reinstall the software
and follow the directions when it tell you to hook up the printer.

You will have to research the driver as the page does not hold the driver.

if the printhead, looks like circutry sometimes, is bad the cartdrige will not work again.

Download and install the driver - should be as good as using the CD.
