I am changing my oil on a 2008 Hyndai accent. It is on the back of the oil pan, I am working from the front of the car. Do you know if the oil pan drain plug is threaded normally, such as turn to the right to tighten and left to loosen? I have been going to the left and the ****** will not loosen. Thanks for your help

You could have cross threaded the plug if you cannot remove the plug when you turn it vounterclockwise. You will neef to take it to a mechanic.

SOURCE: 2002 Jetta TDI 1.8 Oil Pan

I've changed several oil pans, but never a Jetta. I can tell u that I have always had to remove suspension parts, motor mounts, jack up the engine, etc, It's never been just an easy unbolt it and you're set job. Remember that the oil pump almost rests on the bottom of the pan, so you have to clear it to remove, and that's where the problem (and labor) is. Check to make sure there's no damage to the pump or oil pick-up tube. Yes u should tighten the pan in an alternating pattern, u want it to go up against the block evenly, it u bolt one side at a time you may tweek the pan so it doesn't fit well, and u will have oil leaks, so tighten criss cross pattern slowly all around (a couple turns each bolt before moving on to the next. Good Luck, and let me know how u do. countrycurt0

2009Hyundai Accent. Where is the oil pan & the bolt to drain the oil. First time doing my own oil change on this car

Be careful !!!! Look under the frount of the car you will see a black thing that it looks like a pan with a bolt in it.Take out the bolt and your oil will come out .After it drains out wipe the bolt hole and bolt off and replace and tighten good and snug as in thight. After that find the oil filter probably in front or the back of the motor but take it off and wipe off where your filter was, make sure the rubber gasket is not stuck on the motor, then repace filter.Your best deal is to let someone else do it .You really dont save alot by doing your own ,they have insurance if something happens and believe me anything can cause it has with me and I have changed oil 39 years.GOOD LUCK!!!

What kind of motor oil uses

Change engine oil regularly, every 3000miles or 3months, whichever comes first. Make sure to use an API certified SAE 10W30 in Summer and 5W30 in the Winter. If your Hyndai has extensive engine wear, 10W30 is a suitable substitute. You must not use 10W30 if temperatures are 20F and expected to fall.

I have a gmc Sierra 2008 and I can't find the oil drain plug to change my oil where is it?

The oil plug will be located on your oil pan. If you checked ther are you sure you checked all areas? I have never seen one anywhere else. Especially on an american made vehicle. I don't know your experience level but the oil pan is located just in front of the transmission under the engine. I hope that helps you find it.

2001 hyundai transmission seems to buck as if almost staling and slips when excellerating from a stop

YOUR TRANS NEEDS A FILTER AND OIL CHANGE YOU CAN DO IT YOUR SELF JUST BUY A FILTER KIT REMOVE THE PAN AND DROP THE OIL UNDOO THE BOLTS AT THE REAR OF THE PAN AND SLOWLEY MOVE FORWARD THAT WAY THE OIL WILL RUN OUT OF THE BACK OF THE PAN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LARGE FLAT CONTAINER TO CATCH THE OIL
CHANGE THE FILTER AND RE FIT THE PAN YOUR TRANS SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 3.5 L OF OIL
SYNTHETIC TRANS OIL IS MORE EXPENSIVE BUT IT WORKS ALOT BETTER THAN STANDARD OIL

Replace oil pan on my Hyundai accent 2004

You can try to re torque the bolts before you drop the pan and re place the gaskit if that is where your leak is coming from. Good luck and hope you don't have to drop the oil pan.

Empty Oil

sometimes the oil filter gasket will stick when you take off the oil filter. leaving a double ring on the filter. this is a common mistake and is made alot when you take it to a place like jiffylube or even when you do it yourself. Just make sure the next time you have it changed or change it yourself crank the car and then look under it for a few seconds. when it builds up oil pressure if the double ring happened you will see it leake out.
