You didn't say what was leaking, water or antifreeze. If it is water dripping, your drain tube from the AC evaporator compartment is blocked. Clear that and the condensation will drain outside the car. If it is antifreeze, your heater core has a leak and will need to be replaced.
it could be a frost plug in the cylinder head or a head gasket leaking.if you can get under the car and look in the area of the leak you may be able to see the area the coolant is coming from.remember that coolant(or any leak)doesn`t flow up always down.so if you can find the highest point of were the leak is then this will be from were it comes from.the best way is to top up the cooling system and pressure test it and check for were the leak is coming from.if there is a coolant hose in the area it could be a bad hose or clamp that needs repair as well.
If it smells like antifreeze it's your heater core. If it doesn't smell and you have been using your a/c then it's your condenser or maybe a blocked drain tube. If it's been raining a lot or if you noticed after going threw car wash could be door seals, or even a windshield seal.
Hi, a small leak in the heater core could either be draining through the evaporator drain port or perhaps just evaporating into the air flow. Does the windshield fog when you set it on defrost?
If anti-freeze is actually coming out of the drain tube then yes, you could very well have a bad heater core. You may also be able to smell antifreeze while inside the vehicle if it is leaking. [Its a kind of sickly sweet smell] If just clear water is dripping out then this is most likely from normal condensation that is collecting and dripping off of the air conditioning evaporator core as the air conditioner runs. This condensation collects in the heater, a/c housing then drips out of the same little drain. Water from normal condensation will evaporate off of cement or pavement pretty quickly but antifreeze takes quite a while to evaporate away and feels slimy to the touch. It doesn't take much of an antifreeze leak before the cooling system gets low on so make sure you don't run low on coolant which can cause the engine to overheat.
is this a gt or ? change your water temp sending unit (not much info from you) buy the sending unit and replace it should be near where the top rad hose where it connectes to thurmostat housing. drain some antifreeze before removing sending unit use tefflon tape to prevent any leaks do not over tighten it's aluminum good luck CJ
Three possibilities--the windshield is leaking water, the heater core is leaking antifreeze (should smell like antifreeze), or the air conditioner evaporator (near the heater core) has a plugged drain tube and the water condensed out of the warm air is running back into the cab. Hope this helps!
I believe the other one is underneath the motor mount, which means you will have to remove the mount of you need access to it..
Suggest you check your engine oil, it should be either light brown if just replaced, and black if you have over 30K miles on it.
If the oil is brown like in color, maybe you have an intake manifold leak and anti freeze is getting into the motor oil (Bad Bad) Check for leaks in the heater core inside the car and see if the rugs are wet.
Check radiator for discoloration in the fin areas and tank areas. Finally check your radiator cap, maybe its defective and you loose antifreeze through the overflow.
