The torque specification and the sequencing is as follows:
1. Brake caliper bracket bolt (front): 190 N.m. , 140 Lb-ft
2. Hub to axle shaft nut: 205 N.m., 157 Lb-ft
3. Hub to knuckle Bolts: 100 N.m., 74 lb-ft

Vortecs are a little different that old school small blocks, grab a Haynes or Chiltons, the cross patterns and specs are simply diagramed. Vortec, as any really, start with 25# then 45# and then final torque which I believe is around 70-75# but to be sure verify with the manual. AutoZones, Murry's, Adavance auto all carry the books, Cheap insurance.

99 chevy malibu v6 3.1 engine, head bolt torque is-- 98 through 2001 is step1- 37 foot lbs, step 2- rotate an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn). the rocker arm bolts are 168-in. lbs.

Start in the center and tighten in a criss-cross pattern.

start in the middle and alternate left to right and the torque on a alloy manifold will be around 14lbs or a nip with a 3/8th drive rachet ,any water passages use contact adhesive around the water ports .
