Within the management menu, click "Printing Preferences." Scroll through the menu to see various configuration options and find the option to select whether you wish to print in color or black and white. Select "black and white" and set any other desired settings, such as paper size.

Default the Print Driver to Print in Black and White Only for a Microsoft Windows 7 OS:
The steps below can be used to restrict color printing through the print driver.
NOTE: This solution requires administrative permissions and may require the assistance of a System Administrator.
Open the Printers, Printers and Faxes, or Devices and Printers window. See the Related Items below for additional information.
Right-click on the printer, and then select [Properties] or [Printer Properties].
Click on the [Administration] tab.
Expand the [Configurations] section.
Enable the option for [Black and White ONLY].
Click [OK]. The driver will now have Black and White printing as the default and locked so that the option cannot be changed.

Default the Print Driver to Black and White for a Microsoft Windows OS:
Open the Printers window on the computer.
Right-click on the required printer, and then select [Properties] or [Printer Properties] depending on which operating system is being used.
Click on [Advanced], and select [Printing Defaults].
Click on the [Image Options] tab.
Under Color Correction, select [Xerox Black and White Conversion].
Select any other required driver default settings.
Click on [Apply].
Click [OK] to save the settings.
Close the window.

Launch an application, preferably not your browser, that you can print from, e.g. Microsoft Word

1. Select File -> Print
   1. Select Xerox Features where it says Copies \& Pages
   2. Select Color Options from the drop down labeled Paper/Output
   3. Select Black and White (Black and white printing on the Xerox 7845 costs less.)
   4. On the Presets drop down, select Save As and enter a name, e.g. "Black and White" if you print to multiple printers, check the All Printers
   5. Click OK to save this preset

Now you can test printing by clicking Ok to the print dialog.

The Grayscale print option optimizes the look of color slides for printing on a black and white printer by adding shading. The Pure Black and White option prints your slides in monochrome.

1. Open the presentation you want to print.
2. Click on the word File in the Menu Bar.
3. Select the option Print.
4. The Print dialog will appear.

Hi I am stave and lets fix your problem.
Based on the information I think that Powerpoint is set to print the slide in black and white. When selecting the print option there are a number of settings one of which is print in Black and white, Greyscale, Colour. Please check that colour is selected.

Click "Start" and then click "Devices and Printers."

Right-click the printer you want to use to print only black and white then select "Printing Preferences."

Select black-and-white (grayscale) for the print color and click "OK." Everything you print in any application will now be in black and white. If you want to change the option back to what it was previously, go through the steps again and choose a different option.

open your document which you want to print .. give print then select your printer ...>go to printing preference then go to color tab ..>there you can find option called print color in gray scale ...>select the option and check ....

Could this be the problem? From the User Guide: "Print Color images in Black and White -- Print your color images in black and white to save the ink in your color ink cartridge.
NOTE: You cannot select this setting if you have selected Color Cartridge for all Black Printing"

you can make a selection from the File->Print option of your word processor or whatever package you are using. it is your command that sets the printer to B&W or color. If your Black ink finishes then the printer even if set to color will print black as near black with color inks.

Please check if your Colour Ink Cartridge is not emply. If their's ink in the cartridge then try to service your printer through the Print Preferences. Your Colour Cartridge Nozzels could have been blocked thats why your printer is unable to print in Colour.

In case if both the above doesn't work then check in the Print Preferences that you should not have saved the option of PRINT DOCUMENT IN BLACK ONLY. hope this helps , AJ

before you print go to the print properties or preferences, in there see if you find a setting that says black/white or color. select color then print.

you may or may not have this option. the older HP ink-jets defaulted to Black/white and you had to manualy select color from the current document you where printing.
