My brother printer say Drum Error, so we replaced the drum. Same message. No incoming faxes are working and we have stored faxes we cannot receive.

You have to reset the drum counter.Do that by opening the front door and press and hold the reset button.The machine will display a message if the drum were replaced.Select yes.

Drum error message

check the silver spring loaded contacts inside the drum cavity make sure they casn be pushed in and spring back out. Also clea them with a dry cotton swab

You need a toner cartridge which includes the drum. Go to a store like Staples, they will have what you need.

Try cleaning the corona wire on the drum. It looks like a blue tab along the top of the drum. It may be necessary to reboot the printer also. You will likely lose those stored faxes but might be needed to reset the system.

You forgot to tell the machine you have installed a new drum unit.
After you get a new drum unit, remember to follow the instruction to reset the machine to let it know a new drum is installed. In my MFC-7840W, I opened the front cover, I pressed the Clear/Back button while turning on the machine. Answered the question by pressing 1 if a new drum unit is
installed. Then it works. Pete8888.
