Inserted disc, disc runs, but nothing appears on the monitor.

It could be you need to uninstall the driver and plug the camera in first and allow the laptop to install the software automatically.

IF TWO DISCS AND OPTIMAL DEFAULT MADE IN BIOS
WINDOWS MAY HAVE SWITCH DISC TO BOOT FROM.

Your disc may be empty or no data or it may not compatible with your drive, you need to scrape the hole of disc in a round with a hard key or knife or any other thing which can easily be inserted in its hole to make compatible with your drive. Do not scrape it so much.

You have formatted the hard drive (containing Boot Manager) using recovery disk 1.
That's why the error message.

Just insert disk 1 again.
Shut down the computer (press & hold the power button for a minute).
Restart.

Follow the instructions that come up.

If it doesn't help, reseat the hard drive. (open the back cover, take out hard drive, reconnect it)
Also you may go to BIOS (tap F1 while booting) and set the cd-drive as the first boot device.

If you have a disk that you know works, try it. Make sure the disk is not upside down.

Does it have a red light in front or nothing? If you don't have anything then your power supply has went out and you can pick one of those up for 40-50 dollars on eBay.

Restart with Mac OS disc inserted, while holding down the C key to restart from the OS on the disc.
Then launch disc utilties program and repair the permissions on your hard drive...
Restart... did it get you up to your desktop?

unfortunately your bluray laser has probably failed. the diode burns out quickly on these older units. call sony they charge 150 or send it to me for 100..24hr turnaround

Once the setting for Progressive Scan output is entered,

player, press the STOP (x) button to stop any disc that is
playing. Next, press the STOP (x) button again and hold it
for five seconds before releasing it. The video output will
be restored to the standard setting, and a picture will once
again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.
