Amana model# sxd25aw, was working great then freezer just stopped getting cold, freezer is about same temperature as refrigerator now, even refrigerator seems not as cold as normal. can hear compressor turing on and off like normal, please help.

There may be a damper between the freezer and refrigerator. on some models this is thermostatic on others it is ran by an small motor. Look to see if the louvers are open. if not it is likely that the thermostat or motor is bad. Some even have a small fan.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

the evap fan motor sounds like its not working . replace the fan motor and the defrost terminator .. ..mm

You probably have a bad damper

The cold from the freezer is piped up to the refrigerator and if that tube gets clogged with frost or ice it will not be able to blow to the cold air into the refrigerator area. I took everything out, unpluged the unit for about 6 hours, till all the frost from the freezer was gone, wiped up all moisture and turn it back on. It worked!

Sounds as if you have a bad timer or a cold control They can be replaced. Most likely it is the cold control

could be a glitch in the defrost cycle the adaptive defrost control could be faulty and when you unplugged it you might have reset it it should be ok till monday but i would just get the basics untill the tech looks at it
