If its a flat cable, they are all attached by a piece of plastic that must be moved, either up or down, deppending on its position to lock/unlock the cable. Its simple and easy but you have to be carefull to find that piece of plastic and while you handle it. It is always attached to the board, maintainig the flat cable firm and steady. (hope tha helps you); otherwise if its not a flat cable and its a simple common round cable, it does not matter if its thin or not, it is always attached by a simple connector that fixes it to a series of pins, metallic pins on the board. Those round cables are usually just connected in one part while the other is fixed with soldering material, in those cases be very carefull. G luck.

When I turn the power on, green power light comes on, lens comes out half way but then freezes and green light goes off, camera unresponsive. battery is fully charged and I have taken it out and put it...

Hi.

This is a common problem , generally indicated as lens error. The problem is often caused by dirt or dust in the lens gears.

Possible reasons are :

  • Faulty lens mechanism or jammed lens (camera usually turns off by itself in this case)
  • Main board faulty.
  • Ribbon cable to main board broken or connector defective.
  • If there is no power at all it is the connector from batteries to main board, this is also a ribbon cable.

You can attempt tapping gently the back of the camera while turning the camera on. Sometimes this can help the lens out.

If that does not work, then the lens must be taken apart.

I summarized the problem in this article: Lens Error.

If the camera is less than one year old will be replaced by manufacturer.

If your warranty is expired you can get an estimate for repair from manufacturer, or from a third party like Advance Camera here :Advance Camera Repair you can book the repair online.

Regards.

Everthing that is supposed to be black comes up green

I just bought one of these that had the same problem, except it was the red that was bad. It is a bad connection on a surface mount connector going from the input board to the computer board.
I wish I had written down the connector location. Here is a picture (if this works). The red arrow points to the cable/connector that needs to be removed and cleaned and reconnected. This board is in the center of the monitor and under an aluminum cover (just pull it off).
Hope this helps!159d3e1.jpg

BB Curve camera won't funtion

This is the initial sign of the camera coming loose from the socket on the main board.

If it still in warranty then send it out for repair.

If it's out of the warranty then you can put a foam or plastic spacer to under the battery cover.

Just like the battery foam pad under the battery.

Place few tab of supporting material under the battery cover. Make sure they does not cover the lense or the flash.

Next time the camera give you the error message again. Take the battery out and press the camera and flash area firmly until you hear a soft plastic snap sound.
Once the camera contacts snap back in placet then your are back in business.

Samsung L100 cant figure out how to charge!!! Adaptor supplied but no battery charger to plug in to mains. Do I need to purchase a battery mains charger???

you can charge the battery through the camera like a cellphone.

plug the USB cable to the ADAPTER then plug it to a wall socket then plug the USB cable connected to the AC power adapter to your camera

the USB cable should have an indicator (RED) if it is already charging and (GREEN) when its done

I dropped my hp photosmart m627 and now it says lens error m627-31 when i turn it on - can this be fixed?

The only fix I kow of is to take the camera apart and set the gears on the lens correctly. You are going to need a small set of phillips and stright screw drivers, and a soldering iron. The back comes off easy enough, the next thing it to remove the screws on the back of the main board. the screws on the top function board. and then unsolder the two tabs on the top of the main board that connects to the battery compartment. Be sure to unsolder the correct ones. Once this comes off the camera lens is pretty easy to figure out. Just take the motor and gear section apart and set it correctly. I have done a few that when I just turned the barrell of the lens, I heard a snap and it worked fine. You may have to take it apart. If you need more help contact me at cwradio73 at gmail.com

Schwinn S1000 illuminates both green & red light, but no power

I am having the same problem. By all indications it looks like the motor controller is the problem. Everything else works OK. I am pulling the controller tomorrow and replacing. If that doesn't work I am junking it.

Nonworking speakers

For your monitor with built in speakers, there should be a cable usually the plug is green in color, coming from the monitor which needs to be plugged to the back of the computer for the speakers to work. If you don't see a cable, then there is a plug on the monitor where a cable would go.

Yes you can connect external speakers. They plug into the back of the computer. There are usually round ports on the back colored blue, pink, and green. Figure: http://www.ultimatepcrepair.com/files/bsound.jpg (sometimes there is more, depending on your computer) The speaker cable plugs into the Green color one.

Samsung sgh-d807

Remove battery cover and battery. There are four small screws visible on the rear cover, remove those. Wiggle and distort the back cover a little at the bottom of the phone until it pull partly free from the phone, slide a guitar pick or small flat blade screwdriver between the phone and the rear cover, at the side of the phone, pry this cover off until it snaps free. You will see the main board now. Remove the two screws holding this board on, carefully fold it back towards the battery area. The main ribbon cable is visible now. Remove a green tape on the socket where the ribbon cable joins the board. pull the ribbon away from the board gently and use a screwdriver or something else to cut the adhesive between the board and the cable. The socket has a hinged brown piece closest to where the cable comes in, that flips up to release the cable. The small cable coming from the number pad is removed by gently prying up the rectangular connector from the board. Now with the board free you can remove six screws from the plastic backing plate, and remove that plate from the slider assembly (one of the screws is hidden by a piece of green tape). On the front half of the phone there are six small screws on the rear side (the camera side). Four are visible, two are hidden behind rubber plugs at the top of the phone. Separate the chrome trim from the backing plate by starting at the bottom of the phone, by the key pad, and it may be stuck from a little day-to-day dirt but separate it there, then swing the bottom end out and release the front cover from the two clips that hold the top end together. You now can separate the ribbon cable from the screen assembly in a similar way as you did with the other end of the cable. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. Be sure to replace the pieces of tape, and the wire mesh shield attached to them, they serve to prevent radio frequency interference between parts of this device, and between this device and others.

Good luck, and happy dreams.
