If its a flat cable, they are all attached by a piece of plastic that must be moved, either up or down, deppending on its position to lock/unlock the cable. Its simple and easy but you have to be carefull to find that piece of plastic and while you handle it. It is always attached to the board, maintainig the flat cable firm and steady. (hope tha helps you); otherwise if its not a flat cable and its a simple common round cable, it does not matter if its thin or not, it is always attached by a simple connector that fixes it to a series of pins, metallic pins on the board. Those round cables are usually just connected in one part while the other is fixed with soldering material, in those cases be very carefull. G luck.

What you are describing is a systems control board issue, this is a problem that can only be addressed by a camera technician. Since your camera is under two months old it still must have warranty, I encourage you to take it back to the dealer for exchange.

Hi.

This is a common problem , generally indicated as lens error. The problem is often caused by dirt or dust in the lens gears.

Possible reasons are :

  • Faulty lens mechanism or jammed lens (camera usually turns off by itself in this case)
  • Main board faulty.
  • Ribbon cable to main board broken or connector defective.
  • If there is no power at all it is the connector from batteries to main board, this is also a ribbon cable.

You can attempt tapping gently the back of the camera while turning the camera on. Sometimes this can help the lens out.

If that does not work, then the lens must be taken apart.

I summarized the problem in this article: Lens Error.

If the camera is less than one year old will be replaced by manufacturer.

If your warranty is expired you can get an estimate for repair from manufacturer, or from a third party like Advance Camera here :Advance Camera Repair you can book the repair online.

Regards.

My camera pc1060 turns on well but the lens cant detect anything, so no picture/image in the lcd. help....help....hlp.....

I've come across this situation, where the aperture stays closed. The lens cover opens, but the shutter is in the closed position preventing light from hitting the sensor element. The problem was the flexible circuit board (ribbon like cable) entering into the lens assembly. The camera has to be dismantled so that the lens assembly can be freed, then opened. There are two magnetic solenoids that operate the shutter. The fault was that like repeadedly bending a metal rod, it eventiually weakens and breaks. This happened to the ribbon cable. I replaced it with very fine wire, 4 strands in all. Came back good as new once reassembled.

My camera will not come on.

hmmm...if the lens in the front is stuck; take the batteries out, charge em (rechargable batteries), put em back in, press the power button once. the lens should come back in only. leave it for a while. hmm...if the green power does that then u need to charge ur batteries again for a really long time. it means the camera will not use the juiceless batteries.

Anyone have a link to remove the lcd on fe-280

take the back off by finding screws that hold it

Once the back is off be carefull there may be cables connected to it so don't get carried away. Often the LCD is lying on top of the remainder of the camera and sometimes it's attached the rear of the camera. You'll know as soon as you get it open.

Find the screws retaining the LCD and remove them. You may find some adhesive tape holding the LCD down too. Carefully remove this and keep it.The LCD will have one, maybe two flat ribbon cables protuding from it. To disconnect these the sockets they are attached to will have either a tiny plastic flap across the top of the cable holding it down and if it's one of these then carefully pry the flap up with a thin blade. If it doesn't have a flap the you'll notice a different coloured piece of plastic rinning under the cable with very small protusions at each end. With a small screwdiver you should be able ease these protusions away from the socket. Do one end and then the other but don't push too far. This will loosen the cable and you can pull it out.

You will probably find two standard type wires coming out of the LCD as well. If you're lucky they terminate in a plug which is easily removable. If not they will be soldered to a PC board. Do a rough drawing of the board and mark where which coloured wire is soldered.

u can do it it is easy doesnt need any service manual which dont exist for this camera model

but u cantry

pls rate me well

Samsung L100 cant figure out how to charge!!! Adaptor supplied but no battery charger to plug in to mains. Do I need to purchase a battery mains charger???

you can charge the battery through the camera like a cellphone.

plug the USB cable to the ADAPTER then plug it to a wall socket then plug the USB cable connected to the AC power adapter to your camera

the USB cable should have an indicator (RED) if it is already charging and (GREEN) when its done

I dropped my hp photosmart m627 and now it says lens error m627-31 when i turn it on - can this be fixed?

The only fix I kow of is to take the camera apart and set the gears on the lens correctly. You are going to need a small set of phillips and stright screw drivers, and a soldering iron. The back comes off easy enough, the next thing it to remove the screws on the back of the main board. the screws on the top function board. and then unsolder the two tabs on the top of the main board that connects to the battery compartment. Be sure to unsolder the correct ones. Once this comes off the camera lens is pretty easy to figure out. Just take the motor and gear section apart and set it correctly. I have done a few that when I just turned the barrell of the lens, I heard a snap and it worked fine. You may have to take it apart. If you need more help contact me at cwradio73 at gmail.com

Pictures appear with vertical or horizontal lines, very white

In my opinion, it is just matter of 2 ribbon wires that are not plugged properly at lens section, coming from main board (LCD section) because to fix / tight a loosed Hinge screws, above said 2 ribbon wires (flexible boards) need to be remove on lens side.

Removing back of the camera to replace LCD screen

I can not remember exactly how the camera is assembled, but make sure you have taken or looked under all the rubber pads on the camera. There are sometimes hidden screws under such pads, or under the USB/Memorycard Door/Power spot on the camera.

Never force the camera, you will only break the clips and latches and cause your camera to become a paperweight. When you get the camera open, also make sure to watch, there are two-three ribbon cables connecting the back panel, the LCD and the backlight to the main boards, and you don't want to break those.
