Hi, that's usually the mounts inside the compressor. It could still last awhile so if you can put up with the noise just wait for it to quit before replacing the compressor or getting a new fridge.

Making a clicking noise and not cooling

This could be a relay on the control board or the compressor is short cycling or both. You can use my assistance to help you resolve this or call a technician, this depends on you. I am very familiar with the Artica/Profile and know that if you can follow instructions and use a test meter we can get this fixed. I would like your complete model number so I can refer to the exact model you have. I will leave you contact information and a service manual and a web page to use with the diagnostics. This problem will not get better, Sea Breeze

Frig shutters and makes noise when the cooling cycle shutoff.

It is probably caused from one or more of the four rubber bushings that mount your compressor to the refrigerator frame. The bushings wear over time and causing the compressor bracket to have a little play. Then when the compressor stops it moves the frame slightly bumping against the mounting bolt causing a slight to moderate sounding clunk when stopping, Also check a lines and cords as a cord refrigeration line near the compressor or fram can also cause the problem.

Ge profile artica not cooling

  • Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it.

  • Next, see if the compressor motor is running

The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:

    • The compressor

    • The Thermostat

    • The overload, relay, or capacitor

    • The defrost timer

    • The condenser fan motor
