Greetings AK86,

From what I have gathered, you only need to charge the battery. I believe you can charge the battery in the camera or on a seperate battery charger.

I hope this helps.

I have bought a charger for camera but it wont seem to charge

check the voltage and current rating mah for the battery there is a probability that the battery may be of high current rating and your charger of low so it will definetely not charge the battery of the camera or will take too long to charge it..

Lost power charger will a telephone charger with the right dc voltage work? jazz hdv188 also its a usb jack in camera instead of the little round holed one

Some phones charge the battery in the camera like a phone, but many do not. The USB connection is meant to be used to transfer photos from the camera to a computer. If your (now lost) charger was plugged into the camera to charge it, and it plugged into the USB connector, then you can charge the camera with any lead that will fit the USB connector, as this will have a standard voltage. You can even charge it from the computer, without buying a separate charger.

However, if your charger charged the batteries outside the phone, by removing them from the phone and placing them in the charger, then it is very unlikely that they will charge in the phone, whatever you connect to it. I have a camera just like this, that requires an external charger.

Can the BC-NH01 battery charger also charge AAA

In reality, yes. The AAA batteries are to short for the charger, so some fiddling is required. I'd recommend you buy a suitable multicharger instead.

You put the battery into the camera. Put the USB end from your computer cord into the end of the AC adapter hook it up to your camera. Ta-da! Everything should be working smoothly in the battery/charger department. :)

Trouble with my Canon 5D

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Does it use battery only or charger

Hi,

It depends on the Model of the camera. Few camera's do have that function and few don't.

However, most models do not have this feature as this would require a built in charge circuit, which would complicate the design and definitely increase the size of the camera. Even large cameras don't (usually) have built in charging circuits.

The thing to remember is that in order to charge the battery you must have the same voltage as the original charger. USB ports only supply 5volts... typically at 500mah or less. If your camera does not allow for the battery to be charged in the camera then it won't matter because you will need an external charger.

Be careful about he type of external charger you buy because lithium batteries are dangerous if charged incorrectly.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Disconnect the charger from the Camcorder and remove the battery.
Next, clean the metal contact of the battery and the battery compartment.

Then, insert the Battery in the Camcorder and turn it ON then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

After resetting the Camcorder to the default settings, connect the AC adaptor to check its operation.

If the issue persists then the DC in jack requires to be serviced.
