Hello Gurus. Neither the oven or broiler ignites (but the stovetop does). The glo-bar in the oven does not glow. I assume at this point (due to a little research online) that the glo-bar or igniter failed. What has me confused is this statement that I found on this site:
"An easy way to determine if you may have an igniter problem is to check BOTH your oven features. If the oven doesn’t light, check the broiler and vice versa. Since both the BROIL manifold and BAKE manifold are fed from the same gas source, but have separate igniters, it’s an easy assumption to make that the igniter may be bad, if one or the other doesn’t light."
Does this mean that even if one item (oven or broiler) isn't working, the other still should be since they use two separate igniters?
If neither the oven or broiler ignites, and the gas regulator is open, and the glo-bar doesn't glow, does that mean that two igniters need to be replaced?
Any other info you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Rob
Hi,
My bet is that the broiler ignitor has been out for a while and you just never knew it...
I would change the ignitor as a first try to fix it it is themost common failure..

thanks. The oven and broiler have been working up to this point (wife constantly uses both). The glo-bar is not "glowing". The glo-bar is in the oven near the top, and the igniter is down in the broiler area.
So it is most likely the glo-bar or the igniter?
