Oven & broiler not working

I have a GE gas oven

Hotpoint Electric Ignition
Model #: RGB528 ET4WW
Serial #: D5156500P
yesterday the oven and broiler stoped working. I thought I had a pilot light but I'm not sure. I tried turning the gas on and lighting it with a match and it didn't work. I do not smell any gas so I'm guessing a safety valve has shut the gas off. The stovetop burners all work normally. The clock works as usual too. I can't find a manual for this. Do I have a pilot light? if so how do I reignite it? if not what are possible causes? I'm trying to fix this myself.
Thanks
DEM Here is a brainteaser for you. Hotpoint model RGB526PEA1WH. Gas oven will not burn unless the top burners are lite first. I can see the oven igniter light up, but the gas is not flowing to begin its burn. I turn on the top burners for a minute or so, then like majik the oven begins to burn.
Once in a while the oven will begin to burn without lighting the top burner, but very rarely. Sometimes the oven will shut off after reaching the proper temp, but fail to re-lite to maintain the cooking temperature.

You ignitor is going out you will need to replace it the ignitor needs to draw a min of 3.2 amps in order to open the gas valve coil if short of this it will not open at thimes it may just have enough to open

Gas Oven, Flames shoot out from broiler drawer

Typically most manufacturers dont want the end user messing with gas fired appliances. This can be dangerous. There are adjustments listed in the manual for the flame and shutter air flow. It could also be a gas pressure issue if the adjustments dont work. You can download the manual on the internet. Ignitor lights up, but the oven/broiler does not. Is there a gas flow problem?

Hi,

Just because it glows that does not mean it is not bad...
The ignitor is not working right and is going bad....
have the repair man replace the ignitor, or DIY....

Hi,
My bet is that the broiler ignitor has been out for a while and you just never knew it...
I would change the ignitor as a first try to fix it it is themost common failure..

Oven does not heat. Broiler and stove work. NO gas smell.

could be the oven thermostat, get a plumber/heating engineer out, but make sure you can trust him, cause he could try and say u need a new cooker when it MIGHT only be a new oven thermostat.
