How can i get the instuctions to work my scanner on my canon mx300 ? i need to set my labtop up to my canon mx300 i figure out the printing but cant figure out the scanning set up .

Remove and reinstall the printer in your PCs settings. Be sure the printer is on and connected when you do it.

Windows should detect the printer, and install a driver for it, and you should be able to print from the windows' command or PRINT.
Plug it into your usb port, and look under "printers" in Control Panel. If you don't see it, try to install it as a device.
As a last resort, Best Buy often has copies of CDs that some stores save, to help reload lost programs on hard drives. You could check with them, and see if they can help.

You must insert a new set of ink cartridges then the machine can work properly.

First You must install "MP Navigator EX" program to your Pc..and then you can control every feature of the scanner from your computer..(not from scanner...)
This program normally comes with the MX300 as CD ,if not you can download from Canon support page....Good luck..Regards

Hi,I assume you gave a print command from PC but printer did not print?
Did you try to make a "copy" of something ? as photocopier function. thru the command keys on the printer..
Please give me more detail then I can give more solutions..Regards

Look on the mfr's website for instructions on how to replace an ink cartridge.

Had several other problems with my new canon mx-300 printer. trouble with word perfect and scanner Phoned Canon tech who brushed me off saying trouble was with my driver and not compatible with my computer. Returning it to the store tomorrow and going to pick up a HP
printer somewhere else..

It assume to be Canon Pixma MX300 Office All in one printer.

It may be due to incomplete installation of the All In One printer. Please check for the Device manager and also reinstall the printer with its installation CD.

I've had to use guttenprint 5 to set up non-supported printers in linux, have you tried that?
I found a fix, though! Simply use the already installed "Canon PIXMA MP150 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.1" driver. It seems to be printing fine. You can copy and fax stand alone still on the unit itself. I guess that we will have to wait for a real driver to take advantage of the onboard scanner. Hope that this helps!
