First of alll on your comp...
click start>run>type in run box as cmd>it will open up a command prompt screen....
in that screen type in lowercase as ipconfig and press enter
it will give you a message like
ipaddress as 192.168.0.2
default gateway....192.168.0.1
if you get this message...then open internet explorer....
type in addressbar as 192.168.0.1
and try opening the page if page doesn't open up then...
1... unplug all the cables from your router...turn off your comp..
now connect just the power light in your router...and at the back of your router you'll get a rteset hole...in there is a reset pin you need press that pin woth a ball point pen for 15 seconds after that..connect the cables one that connects your router and phone socket and connect the ethernet cable as well it will connect your router and comp...
now open up internet explorer page again and try the same 192 address if you still don't get the page...
then if you're using windows xp.....
click start>run>type cmd>in the command prompt screen type in this command"netsh winsock reset catalog" without quotes and press enter...and after that restart your computer...

My router worked fine yesterday, today it won't. I've connected and disconnected still no luck. I am now connected directly to my modem and everything is fine. When I connect to the router it says my signal is excellent but I can't get on the internet.
Just purchased a d-link 2310 router and I can not connect to the internet the install goes fine until I have to connect to the internet. It shows not connection, although I can connect fine without the router. Support from d-link turned up empty said it should call mircrosoft. They want to charge me to talk to live person. found no help on their support site.
I have the same problem and I followed answer #1's suggestions. I've connected everything and its as if my computer will not recognize the existence of the router. I would like to note that ipconfig is not yielding a 192 number, so I tried the number which came up and I also did 192.168.0.1 which was what the default was according to the router.
My LAN connection is showing limited or no connectivity when I plug in to the router, no matter what I do.
I have the same problem when I try to connect it via wireless it says that it is no longer in range and when I connect it directly it says limited or no connectivity.
I'm not getting on the net and everything is hooked up and my laptop in receiving connection but is saying local only and not connecting to the net.
