My router worked fine yesterday, today it won't. I've connected and disconnected still no luck. I am now connected directly to my modem and everything is fine. When I connect to the router it says my signal is excellent but I can't get on the internet.

Just purchased a d-link 2310 router and I can not connect to the internet the install goes fine until I have to connect to the internet. It shows not connection, although I can connect fine without the router. Support from d-link turned up empty said it should call mircrosoft. They want to charge me to talk to live person. found no help on their support site.

I have the same problem and I followed answer #1's suggestions. I've connected everything and its as if my computer will not recognize the existence of the router. I would like to note that ipconfig is not yielding a 192 number, so I tried the number which came up and I also did 192.168.0.1 which was what the default was according to the router.

My LAN connection is showing limited or no connectivity when I plug in to the router, no matter what I do.

First of alll on your comp...
click start>run>type in run box as cmd>it will open up a command prompt screen....
in that screen type in lowercase as ipconfig and press enter
it will give you a message like
ipaddress as 192.168.0.2
default gateway....192.168.0.1
if you get this message...then open internet explorer....
type in addressbar as 192.168.0.1
and try opening the page if page doesn't open up then...
1... unplug all the cables from your router...turn off your comp..
now connect just the power light in your router...and at the back of your router you'll get a rteset hole...in there is a reset pin you need press that pin woth a ball point pen for 15 seconds after that..connect the cables one that connects your router and phone socket and connect the ethernet cable as well it will connect your router and comp...
now open up internet explorer page again and try the same 192 address if you still don't get the page...
then if you're using windows xp.....
click start>run>type cmd>in the command prompt screen type in this command"netsh winsock reset catalog" without quotes and press enter...and after that restart your computer...
then again try opening the router page...
the page will open up......do this stuff and let me know about this i will send the screenshots for config the router....
thnks

Laptop can connect to wireless router but not the internet

It could be a conflict with IP adresses. Go to your network connections and right click on wirless connection and go to properties. Scroll down the list to internet tcpip and highlite it. Once highlited go to properties. Then check the set manual ip adress and set it to whatever number you like. leave the bars as is. Do the same to the other laptop but different number.

I try to connect my ps3 to the internet wirelessly and have probs

Hmm, try setting it closer to your router. Ya know the box that has the wireless internet in it. It might not be getting a strong enough connection.

Internet connection failed but IP address obtained.

Hello,

Check to make sure that your router has gotten an IP Address from your ISP. Because you PS3 is telling you that it has an IP from your router. This means that the Router to PS3 connection has layer 3 connectivity, but what about from your router to your ISP? check that in the router by logging into the router's web page and going to the status page it should have your information from your ISP if it does not make sure that the main page is set to the proper settings either get IP automatically (Cable Modem) or Get PPPOE (DSL) connection (Make sure that your password information is correct to).

Now after checking these items make sure that you set the router up as the DNS for your network buy setting this on the status page then in your PS3 (set the DNS setting to point to your router, and set your router up as a caching DNS server).
Then power cycle the router after saving everything, and power cycle your PS3 after setting everything. This should clear up your problem.

Thank you,

Can only connect to LAN, no internet access

Check for a vaild gateway address on router,start.run.cmd> type in ipconfig.if you dont have a valid ip or gatway. try a powercycle, turn off modem and then router, wait about 10-20 sec and plug modem back in. check your ip and gateway check for a connection, if that dont work call netgear to see if u have a defaulted router, or take it back for new one if u still have a recicpt.

Unable to open internet page

let you router allocate the ip addresses manually by enabling DHCP and restart the router, and remove the usb adapter from the usb port and reconnect it, but when you right click on the taskbar on the little pc icons for your connection click enable WZC windows wireless Zero configuration as this will dissable the software you got with the usb adapter and hopefully make the connection more stable, but ensure you have a strong signal.
