you need to replace your modem with a router that is capable of running Network Address Translation. You are trying to route private IP's (192,168.x.x) over the public IP (internet) network.
First thing to do when your router gives you problems: Unplug the power from the router, wait 5 minuted and plug it back in. Wait about 5 minutes (allowing time for the router to restart and reconnect) and try your connection again. If this solves your problem but the problem comes back after a while, do the same thing as above to fix it, go into your router settings and turn off the turbo mode.
so you can access the internet by getting connected by LAN cable. so now try to open the router by its default ip and look for the wireless securities setting and reconfigure them properly and if you are not able to access the router than there is reset button which reset the router to company default. and once you have reset the router than you have to configure it again as per your requirement.
Reset the router and try again, To do that insert a pin into the small hole located on the back of the unit and keep holding a while till the lights go off and turn on again. Then release the pin and try again.
you can not access the internet - maybe you will not read this..
Definately reset your router - and setup as you did previously.
Omit setting passwords until you have full confidence in the router and your own settings.
Try resetting the router, press the reset button at the back for 10 seconds, after that release the reset button and then unplug the power of the router, then wait for 10 seconds and then turn it back on.
After that try accessing the IP of the router 192.168.1.1 (if this did not work try 192.168.0.1,this varies on the model number of the router). Or follow the same steps you have done previously.
well, since you said that 192.168.1.1 was working when you first got it, you should try to reset the router (the button is on the back, press and hold it for 5 secs). that would be the easiest way to put your router back together.
