Cartridge stall when I send anything to the printer it gives me this message and tells me to turn off, check to make sure the cartridges are set in and that the top is snapped down. Everything is fine but it still stops printing 1/2 way through the print.....

I chatted with a lexmark person and they gave me instructions for cleaning the strip in the back of the printer. This did nothing, still hardware error 0502 and cartridges stalled on left side of the printer.

I decided that I had this printer for 4 years and I paid $80 for it so it is now a disposable product. I purchased a new HP all in one printer for $200 with a easy rebate of $100. Hope this printer lasts for 4 years!!!!

I am also getting a hardware error 0502 on Lexmark X5150.

Welcome to Fixya

This means the the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Make sure that you are using original HP cartridges.

Please see troubleshooting procedure below:
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts. Click here to see how.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.
  3. If replacing cartridges fails to correct the problem, click the link at the top of this page to contact HP.

Canon ip 1600 'color cartridge not recognized and/or device not r

Two things. 1. check your cabling to make sure your printer is properly connected. 2. clean your printer's inkwells.
If you send me an e-mail, I can send you a service manual for a Canon Pixma iP1500. Manual is the same for both printers. I can also send you the software service tool. I have both, as I have a Canon iP1500 printer (cheap ink cartridges).
My e-mail address is: [email protected]

I have a HP C5180 All in one and after replacing a cartridge it gives a INK SYSTEM FAILURE message. Error 0xc18a0306 on printer screen. I did all the disconnecting plugs , removing cartridges, waiting,...

follow the steps provided below

  1. Turn off the product by pressing the On button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the product.
    1. Turn on the product by pressing the On button.
NOTE: Sometimes Ink System Failures cause a carriage stall when the power to the printer is cycled. If the Ink System Failure requires the product to be returned, there is no need to resolve carriage stall issues with the product.

  • If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

Lexmark x9350 printer gives error message #1203

I logged into Lexmark's web site and checked their printer support page. It said that if you get error message 1203 your ink cartridge has leaked fluid. In order to find the right cartridge, do the following. Remove both ink cartridges, put in one, turn off the printer, turn it back on and if you get the message 1203 that's the cartridge with the problem. I did not get that message. I turned off the printer, put in the other cartridge, and turned it back on. Sure enough, I got the 1203 message again. (I had cleaned the wrong cartridge before). I removed the leaky cartridge, cleaneded it (making sure I did not leave any residue) and put it back in the printer. It worked!

The printer doesn't recognize the new original HP color cartridge

There is a small spring that holds the ink cartridge in the ink holder. You will see it stick out from the right hand side of the ink holder where the ink cartridge slides in. If that spring isn't being held to the ink holder by two plastic tabs, (I.E. the plastic tabs are broken) the printer will never recognize the cartridge. If the printer is still under warranty I would contact HP or an authorized repair center for HP. Both the black and color ink holder has this spring. I know of no way to repair this kind of breakage.

The ultimate fix for this problem is to give your Lemark and Dell printers to people that you really dislike. Let them live with the frustration. Then buy yourself a Hewlett Packard, Canon, or Epson printer. Check the cost of the cartridges for each brand prior to making a purchase. Purchase the printer with the least expensive cartridges and one that will take the generic (compatible) cartridges available in retail stores and refill stores. My personal favorite are the Epsons. They print excellent colors and are very affordable to own, and most important, operate.
