I have a dc14, and I want to know why I can only vacuum about 2-3 feet in front of it, and then it starts to make a racheting noise. I have to shut it off, return to upright, then turn it back on, to repeat the whole frustrating process. solution for this?

How do I FIX MY DYSON DC14 VACUUM

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC14 - it sounds like this spring may have come out of the clip which secures the Telescope Reach wand in place. Normally the spring will locate behind the clip, keeping the wand locked securely onto the main body of the vacuum until you remove it for above-floor cleaning.

We'd be happy to talk you through replacing the spring - if you have further difficulty in doing this, you would also be able to order a replacement wand if needed.

When you have your DC14 easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

My dyson dc14 when you push the start button doesnt turn on? could the button need replaced

The most likely fault is a break in the cable near the point where it enters the machine, if cable is ok it could be the switch, or it could be a fuse in the plug if you have fused plugs. Get someone to check the cable, often the broken part can be removed, and you end up with a slightly shorter cable by about 20cm

DYSON DC14 DUST ON OUTSIDE OF THE CANISTER SEEMS TO BE STATIC DUST BUT WHY IS IT THERE?

Hi Donna, it's Jack at Dyson.

As with any vacuum cleaner, it's normal for your Dyson vacuum to generate harmless static in use. You may find this causes small, airborne dust particles to cling to the outer casing of the machine, including the outside of the cleaner bin. This can be easily removed using a soft, dry cloth.

It sounds as if your DC14 is working as intended, but if you'd like any further advice please call our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Each time I vacuum, animal hair and dirt collect on the Hepa filter of my Dyson Animal. It is about 5 years old. I have already replaced the Hepa filter about a month ago.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC14. If dirt and pet hair are collecting on your HEPA filter, the pre-motor filter may be incorrectly fitted, or missing from your cleaner. To check the filter is correctly fitted, please see our online support video for this cleaner:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1461&product=DC14-ALLFLOORS_US

If the cleaner has been used with the pre-motor filter missing, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly, as the cleaner may have been damaged. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack

My dyson dc14 wont turn on at all

Hi I would suggest you first check the Fuse in the plug. This is quite common.

If after chnaging the fuse the machine still doesnt work then please come back to us. Let us know that you have checked the fuse andthe machine still wont switch on.

Im confident it will only be the fuse. Unless you have had strange noises or funny smells coming from the machine.
