I just replaced my black drum and had to replace my black toner cartridge because all the toner was lost in the old drum. Used genuine OKI toner because I used to have aftermarket toner (From tonerking-ebay). Thought that would solve the problem. But still instead of printing black it comes out as a shade of grey. Please help.
Check density control in COLOUR MENU is set to auto and exucute auto density in same menu, clean the led heads on the lid.
In MAINTENENCE menu you can increase paper black setting (ie+2).
If any of your non gen Toner got mixed in the new black drum then this is the real issue.
If paper has moisture in it toner doesn't stick as well, run it threw twice (first time it dries out) to confirm it is not a moisture issue
I was having this same issue, it was so frustrating! I cleaned the LED bar, changed my black drum and inserted a new toner and bam! Issue resolved! Thank you so much, I love my lil Oki, it's over 20 years old and has never let me down!

Not able to print a status page. Tried holding down menu 5 sec and no output. I searched the menu and am not able to find how to print status page. I did print out a demo page and the black is great but when i print out text (like the entire menu map) the black is grey. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Please verify black on bottom of printer status page is also grey (i thinks it in hold menu 5 secs) please post result of inspection
All printing in black comes out light grey
