Adjusting Display Brightness You can use the following procedures to adjust display brightness to make it easier to
read under different lighting conditions.
Press the "Fn" key and then press the "5" key or "6" key after con? rming that "F"
is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen. Pressing the "5" key adjusts
brightness for a darker display, while pressing the "6" key adjusts brightness for a
lighter display.
In order to continue to make adjustments, press the "5" key or "6" key again after
? rst pressing the "Fn" key.
Brightness settings can also be made by navigating to the menus and tab in order of
Start ? Settings ? System ? Backlight.

Try changing the settings for the video formats, widescreen, regular, and all that. There are angle mirrors in the back of the tv that direct the projected image on the screen. The mirrors are positioned such that if, says, a piece of a metal bracket or something falls down inside the projection area, it'll fall right against the projection lens and block the image. Open up the back of the tv and follow the light path from the screen backwards to its source and make sure there's no debris in the projection path.

in the menu , the display or video settings should have different video display settings such as 16:9 , 1:1 , 14:9 ect... these will change the video display to different sizes

There is a way to adjust your screen size. You need to access the service menu on the set. With your remote, Press "mute+1+8+2+power" to access it. Your problem is not a vertical alighnment or size adjustment. No, Im sorry to say its the old vertical output IC and /or the small capacitors around the ic and in the vertical circuit. If you dont have the right tools, like a soldering iron a multimeter know how to read a schematic diagram, then you should seek out a repair person to assist you in this repair.

sounds like its stretched out just a bit. Do you feel comfortable with messing around inside where theres 100s of volts??? if you do then in the vert curcuit theres a small control called the vert height control right on the printed curcuit board. adjust it slightly so you can see that full pic but not the black partm of the pic. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND thaT if you have no experience with this then leave it to a pro as afterv all they will charge you a minumum beanch charge to adjust the set for you Im sure as it is a minor thing to do. good Luck
