The refrigerator does not stay as cold as it should, then the freezer frost up. I defrosted work 2 weeks now it did it again. The top part of the refrigerator it iced up setting on 5, then the no frost freezer frosted up again. Tried defrosting again no water in pan in back until it thawed. Also alot of water was dripping off the top of refrigerator everything was covered with water. This time after the 2nd defrosting the refrigerator is not getting as cold as it did the last time.

Have a maytag french door fridge on top freezer on bottom, fridge is not staying cold, frezzer works just fine?

Hi

Check the back wall or floor of the freezer section for frost. Check the freezer (evaporator) fan to see if it is running. Check the condenser coils (under the unit) for blockage from dust. Check the condenser fan (under the unit) to see if it is running.
If you have frost in the freezer there is a problem with the defrost system and the freezer will start to warm eventually as well as the fresh food section. If that is the problem you can check the defrost terminator, defrost heater/s, and the defrost timer or adaptive defrost control If used on your unit or the main control board if so equipped. These things usually require dismantling the freezer and other areas of the refrigerator to be checked.

You could defrost the freezer by disconnecting the power to the refrigerator and letting it sit for at least 24 hours with both doors wide open to allow the frost to melt completely but it will build up again in 1-2 weeks and start the warming up again.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Frosts up wont get cold MCBR1000S

If freezer is icing up, you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

Fridge part is not cooling; freezer is frosting up

your ref. has a defrost problem.you will need to take back panel off inside freezer and take your hair dryer again and defrost the system.then you can check your heater, thermostat which is located at top of coils that were defrosted.sometimes the thermostat will pop and not allow it to go into defrost and you need to check defrost timer.

Ice build up in back section of a Whirlpool no frost top freezer refrigerator 66"hx30"wx27"d

your sure the defrost cycle works? sounds to me its not. you need to remove the freezer back and check the defrost components. or put it in the defrost cycle and see if it is working. to get that much frost as you describe the dor would have to be left open. also check all door seals. let me know what you find and we can go from there
