Hello I opened the refrig door, and noticed no lights, but things seem cold right now. The freezer side light is on and I can hear it running. I replaced the light bulb in the refrig, and it is still all dark on that side. Please help. Thanks very much. KathyK

Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.

there is one of 2 possibilities, either the damper door between the refrige and freezer compartments is frozen shut due to ice build up and needs thaw out,the cold control that controls this door is bad or the mother board on the lower rear apron behind a cover panel is defective,if you have had light bulbs go out in the refrige compartment and now the refrige part does not cool and the temp light readout is dark this is a good indication its the motherboard, also if the lights are strobing and you can hear a relay clicking
Your refrig light switch does control the freezer fan and the refrig light bulb . Replace the refrig light switch .
Open the refrig door , freezer fan goes off and the refrig light comes on .
I would pull the refrig out , and remove the back panel , covering the compressor and fan motor . Check to see if the fan is working . Fan not working , causes the divider panel , to get very hot . Also , fan not working , causes the compressor to over heat and cut off on the overload .
THE FREEZER FAN BLOWS COLD AIR TO THE FRIDGE SIDE, TO ACCESS THIS FAN YOU NEED TO EMPTY THE FREEZER SIDE AND REMOVE THE REAR PANEL SOMETIMES A WHIRL OF IT WILL GET IT SPINNING AGAIN BUT YOU MAY AS WELL CHANGE IT
Sounds like the damper isn't opening. Put you hand on the Left wall of the fridge side, at the top. If you feel No Air. Then there is your issue. Bad Damper Motor. Also check the back wall of the freezer, there sould be No Frost. If there is then you have a defrost issue. Not a damper problem. One more thing. Make sure when you shut the fridge door, the light goes out. About a half inch or so before the door is completly shut, the light will go out, if not then thats your issue. Let me know how you make out.
if you have a french door (also known as bottom mount, freezer on bottom) and your fridge sections(cold air blows from freezer to refrig) is not cooling try this
1. ensure you hear the fan running, its it not, thats it(most likely fan motor IF fan is running check these things 1. ensure refrig section light shuts off by holding down the switch 2. ensure door shuts 3. clean conderser coils (usually accessed from front through base grille) 4. check for icing in vents, freezer section contain them at top or back, and for a bottom mount the refrig sections vents are under your BIG drawer. if iced try a hair dryer from distance. or empty food into another fridge unplug open doors, and plug back in two days later this should defrost all ice build up
