I intalled cartridges not original and from the begining the pc gave me an error, but i cuold print, now e5 code appears and i can not print, scann, nothing, if i refill the old original cartridges can i reset the printer in order that the printer believes that are new ones? sorry my english, hopeyou understand and can help me
It is not recommended to use refilled cartridge. because it will damage your printer, if it's happen, better to buy new one. the parts is expensive and almost same as brand new printer. Try this to reset the waste basket
Mp150 Reset Counter Service mode operation procedures - 1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button. 2) When the Power LED is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button. 3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. when you got the printer you would have got a manual on cd in there is a part of the program that lets you maintain the printer heads and auto realign the printer you should be able to fined in your user manual to. or you can go to this sight.
The truth is...there is no solution for e5 error.
U may see some solutions through web, however, non of them works..
The only way you can get out of e5 error, replace with new cartridge..
or...
prevent it...before you face it!!
How?
Whenever you take out the cartridge from printer, make sure unplug the power code first..
and then take and refill or whatever...
And then when you put it back....do it when power code is unplugged as well.
Personally, I refilled and used CL831 more than 8 times..

printer. The error itself is an ink cartridge error. It may be that you
are using generic or off-brand ink cartridges in your Canon Pixma
printer. Canon Pixma printers do not work with other brands of print
cartridges; invest in Canon brand ink cartridges and this should take
care of your problem.
Hello, make sure you removed the orange tape from the cartridge. usualy E5 is when the color cartridge is faulty but if the orange tape is on the cartridge it will show E5. if you removed the orange tape an it still shows E5 go with the cartridge to the store where you purcess it for excange.

The E5 error is indeed an error regarding the print cartridges. Are you using original Canon ink. If not then the brand you are using may not be compatible. I would do an eeprom reset and see if that helps. Service manual here, will show you how:
