For your PS2 to read copies it needs a mod chip or an action replay device.

In order to play copied games, you will first have to mod your PS2. To avoid piracy, much of the necessary info on the original disc will be omitted during the copy phase. When you "mod" or put in a new chip, The PS2 can now bi-pass this info and continue to the game. Regardless of the type of PS2 you have, you must put in a mod chip to read back-ups.

you might want to double check your master code for the game, and check the version of your software too i had the same issue i was using the wrong master code

The Playstation (R) 3 has most likely been patched. I find it knocks back not only Action Replay but XPLODER also (The EU version of Gameshark) both for PS2 it is likely that SONY has blocked it out to stop consumers playing region locked dvd movies. So if you in UK you can only play Region 2 PAL dvd's, if you in the us, you can only play Region 1 NTSC dvds. If in AUS, you can only play Region 4 Dvd Disc....etc.... AR Max had a feature to bypass this problem, thus why sony has probably patched against it. As for a solution I am also searching for one, truth be told, I don't think there is one.

You should boot up your codes on your PS2, then the game.
Save your game.
Then copy your save game to your PS3.

please dont tell me you used action replay...it will destroy your systems insides your ps2 cant handel the information it sounds like it might be overloaded
