The thermostat is suspect. The thermostat is usually linked to the freezer compartment temperature control. Do you have to unplug he unit in order to restart the Fridge?

SOURCE: Fridge problem

Hi. The most common failure for this make refrigerator is a bad evaporator fan motor. You should feel air coming out of the diffuser in your freezer. If not, either the fan motor is bad or you have alot of frost build up on the evaporator. You would see alot of frost on the back wall of the freezer where the evaporator coil is located. If this is the case, most likely the defrost bimetal thermostat. But if no frost, the evaporator fan motor is most common and likely to be your problem. Visit me on Ebay username: themackshack. Good luck! Mack

SOURCE: Freezer appears to be working properly - fridge is not cold

if this has only one evaporattor coil then you wil have to turn down the freezer too. first check to see if the if the manual damper motor is working properly. turn the tempertur to 0 on the frig and the damoer should close down. look to see if it did. then turn to 9 and you should hear the damper motor opening and feel air from the outlet.

SOURCE: fridge warm, freezer working, pump working. where

Either the thermostate is defective or refrigerent blocked or leaked or the relay is not functioning properly. Only on inspection of the above parts could pronounce the right remedy.

What might the problem be and how can I solve it?

The evaporator is iced over. Simplest solution is to shut the unit off, clear all items out of it and let it sit open for 24 hours. Afterwards, restart the refer and allow to run for 3 hours and check for proper cooling in the fresh food section.

Why is E522B fridge not cold but freezer working fine?

Sometimes this can happen with fridges that have two evaporator circuits. One circuit controls the freezer and the other controls the chillier part. I can't be sure how your fridge has been configured but the first thing to do is defrost it.
Has the fridge been moved recently or tipped on its side? The compressor has a small amount of oil in it to help it run smoothly and prolong its life. If any of this oil finds its way into the gas circuit it can restrict the calibrated evaporator jet. Defrost the fridge and let it stand for 12 hrs. before restarting it.
This problem can also point to an old and worn out fridge or a fridge that requires re-gassing. Either way its best to buy a new fridge in this case, you can generally tell as the fridge motor will run almost continually and get very, very hot indeed and can become a fire risk.
Lastly, some people put fridges out in a cold garage or store. This can also prevent some fridges from working properly when the garage temperature drops below the temperature that the fridge operates at, it this case the freezer part might also stop working if the temperature of the garage dropped below freezing.
So, Defrost your fridge and let it stand for a while at normal room temperature. Restart the fridge and it should work normally. make sure the temperature dial is set to a reasonable setting, it should work, if not it might be time for a new one.

What shld settings be as food is freezing in fridge it has side by side knobs saying colder mid less cold it is a westinghouse fan forced frost free freestyle unit

The settings are "relative". Someone with this fridge in Montana may need to run the same fridge with different settings than someone in Texas to get the same temperatures.

Many manufacturers recommend that the fresh food compartment should be 34 degrees F, and the freezer -10 to 0 degrees F. To set this properly, place a thermometer in the freezer (that can display temperatures as low as the desired temperature). Adjust the thermometer for the correct freezer temperature before going on to the fridge. A fully stocked freezer could take 12 hours or more for temperatures to stabilize after making changes to the thermostat. Once the -10 to 0 degree temperature has been achieved, set the fresh food compartment temperature.

Place a thermometer (that can display below freezing) in a 6 (or so) oz flexible plastic cup of water and place on a shelf in the fridge. A glass of water could break if the temperature gets below 32 degrees if the water turns to ice. The water acts as a buffer to rapidly changing temperatures when the door is opened to read the thermometer. If the fridge is "full", allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize before making changes.

If the fridge and freezer are empty, changes may be seen in just a few hours or less. Otherwise, wait the 12 / 24 hours for the freezer / fridge compartments.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Zanussi ZX97/5SI fridge/freezer. Fridge part no longer keeps cool, freezer fine. Somehow not keeping temperature.

If the fridge part of your Zanussi ZX97/5SI fridge/freezer is no longer keeping cool, while the freezer part is still working fine, there could be a few possible causes:
  1. Thermostat malfunction: The thermostat controls the temperature inside the fridge. If it is malfunctioning, it may not be able to maintain the correct temperature, causing the fridge to get warm.
  2. Air circulation problem: If the air is not circulating properly inside the fridge, it may not be able to maintain the correct temperature. This could be caused by a dirty or blocked air vent, a malfunctioning fan motor, or a problem with the door seal.
  3. Evaporator coils are iced up: The evaporator coils are responsible for removing heat from the fridge. If they become iced up, they will not be able to function properly, causing the fridge to get warm.
  4. Compressor issue: The compressor is responsible for pumping refrigerant through the cooling system. If the compressor is not working properly, it may not be able to pump refrigerant through the system, causing the fridge to get warm.
  5. A malfunctioning control board: The control board is responsible for managing the functions of the refrigerator, if it's malfunctioning it may cause the fridge not to maintain the correct temperature.

Our beko frost free fridge freezer has stopped freezing. The fan is working and the freezer section cold but not cold enough. Thermostat is in the fridge - the fridge is icing up.

the thermostat in the fridge is turning off your compressor before the freezer has completed its job.this is because it doesnt care about the freezer temperature only the temperature where its located in this case the fridge, try completely defrosting the fridge and restarting it
