Samsung RF4287HARS French Door Refrigerator Questions & Answers
Samsung rf4287hars ice dispenser doesn't work
The whole unit must be removed and unplugged. There is a screw in the bottom near the dispenser opening. Remove this screwn and then take a butter knife and start prying the unit outword.The lever that operates the microswitch may be broken and was on mine. This part is cheap plastic and breaks when over entended in the least. If the actuation lever is broken, you will NOT feel any resistance when pressing the Ice despenser and will push on through to dispense water. Problem is there is NO fix for this except replacement and Samsung will not pay for it. I fashioned a piece of bailing wire in place of the lever that will act the same and have a little spring incase someone presses to hard with their cup/glass. Yes... its bailing wire and works great. You must drill through the middle of the broken support, fashion the wire, coat with super glue and put in position pretty quick.
If you find a small plastic piece on the floor and your ice maker stops dispensing.... I think I know your problem.

What is error code of 23E on a samsung rf4287hars
My fridge got flooded for about 2 feet. But after the flood water was gone, I plugged the fridge and it was working. We moved out of the flooded home a year ago and I left the fridge (I deep cleaned the fridge of course) in a storage room for about a year. Now moved the unit to my garage and I was planning to use it as a backup fridge for some chemicals (not food related). However when I plugged it, it shows the error 23e and both fridge and freezer do not work. It is going to be an easy fix or should I let it go, considering the story?

Samsung Refrigerator Error Code 1E or IE
I'm not sure what all the wild goose chase answers are all about, but you guys are WAY overthinking this and not solving the problem. I'm a 45 year old stay at home mom, decidely and possibly forever "un-handy". The solution is simple, as I just administered it this morning after a self-imposed power outage: Press the "Energy Saver" + "Lighting" button simultaneously for 3-5 seconds and you should be back in business. When this happened on a previous occasion, we had a repair guy come out, although the fridge was operating perfectly bc we weren't sure if that error message was indicating something important. Well, I felt like a schmuck when the guy showed me how to reset the panel (and we were both a bit irritated that phone tech support didn't do a better job of level 1 troubleshooting). So there it is...if your fridge is working fine but showing 1E, press Energy saver + Ligthing at the same time (you may need a flashlight since the panel will be dark).

My water lever sometimes sticks and water continues to run. Is there a way to lubricate?
Hello John;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.
First, I would recommend Samsung or LG to someone I did not like. 60% of my service calls were for these units.
You have a solenoid valve for both your ice maker and one for your water dispenser in the lower back bottom corner of your unit.
So, you either have:
1.) A plugged water valve that is not providing 65 PSI water pressure to close the water dispenser valve.
2.) The spool in the solenoid valve is worn or dirty and is not closing fast enough.
Water supply valves will wear. and the rubber seating will block the water supply pressure.
It is only going to get worse over time.
