I played around with mine for a few weeks and could not find a simple fix. The printer was GREAT, until it wasn't. Repair cost was more than replacement, so it was time for a new printer. I sold my extra ink carts on CL. Sorry this isn't much help....

SOURCE: Samsung Printer CLP300

Have you run the Dr. Printer utility that comes with the printer? If not, run that and see what it says. You can download it from the CLP-300 support page at samsung.com.

SOURCE: My Samsung CLP-510 printer shuts down frequently for paper jam. However, there is no paper jam. To fix, I turn off the power to the printer for 30 seconds and after turning the power back on the paper

give this a try

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

3- power ON the printer. Listen the sound of initial motor run,
(If smooth not grinding noise, check the toner cart OPC drum for jam. If yes check the fusser drive gear and fusser gear and assembly)
If all are ok.
4- Check the paper pick up roller shaft, (sometimes it takes a bunch of paper and jammed if you forcible pull the bunch in reverse direction the shaft may gets bend cause the grinding noise during paper pickup. in that case you have to replace the paper pickup shaft.

you may check on this issue by opening the back door, pull out paper tray take out the toner block (OPC) and see is there any paper really cought jam.

next examing the noise is from the front or near the back end.

if is from the front. took out the black toner to confirm is the issue from the black toner.

if from the back. Than it will be your DEV Main drive n Fuser gear has already worn out.

Repeated, Unexplained Paper Jams With Little or No Damage to the Paper ID:ENUS5286 null.gif null.gif null.gif
IMPORTANT: The printer should rest on a surface that is flat, level, and uniform. This is for safety reasons as well as for paper feed reliability. In the bottom left corner on the front of the printer, as well as on the duplexer and each paper feed option apart from the 2000-sheet feeder, there is a shaft that rotates as the main drive motor in the printer operates. The purpose of this shaft (called the Power Take Off shaft) is to turn the pass-through rollers in the option below. The Power Take Off (PTO) shaft rotates during the printer's POR as well as any time the main drive motor turns, including while paper is feeding from any source and when the toner is agitated in the cartridge.
If the printer is on an uneven or non-level surface, the PTO shaft may not make full contact with the bevel gear on the lower options.
If the printer is on a surface that is not uniform (such as a carpet or foam padding), the PTO shaft on the lowest option may catch or bind, causing the paper feed operation to slow or stop completely.
In either case, repeated and unexplained paper jams (with little or no damage to the paper) may occur. The paper jam is due to the increased amount of time it takes the paper to feed through the path because the PTO shaft is bound or caught on the surface below, or is slipping on the bevel gear.
NOTE: This is not a printer defect or failure although it may result in a broken or stripped PTO shaft.
