Check the waster toner cartridge. The previous owner ditched their clp300 on FREECYCLE (which is a marvelous thing)because they did not find this solution. Apparently the "paper jam" indicator can also
indicate a slew of other anomalies:
-The
printer is experiencing an error, such as jammed paper, open cover,
empty paper, not installated [sic] waste toner container, or ***full
waste toner container.***
-The printer is experiencing a service
required error, such as LSU error, fuser error, or ITB error. Contact
your sales or service representative.
The Waste toner
cartridge is largish "L" shaped gray thing to the left of the toner
cylinders. The manual says to replace it which is what i did. you may be able to simply dump
it out in the trash, but you must wipe off the lenses on it before you re-install.
