Hi Harish and others,
I didn't see all of the thread but:
I have a clx3175fw which for now 3 months only have printed with smears, lines, and ghost-images from preceeding pages.
shortly before trashing the printer because just getting a quote on fixing the printer in shipping whould be close to usd 150. Actual fixing price would probably be higher. If it hadn't been for the fact that I have a stash of toner and the usual consumables for the next 5 years of private use I would have trashed the printer!
BUT: a guy called Michael Ionita (Austrian I think) posted this fix which I finally found via google. And it just worked like a charm. I think it took me less than 8 minutes to fix the printer. And now I know the drill I'd be able to do it en 3 minutes next time. My only comment to his instructions is as follows: where he states "Use a small white paper and try to stick it into the top - like shown": make sure you follow the angle of the glossy plastic from the back of the printer and upwards - AND: "trying" is not enough, you have to push it firmly to squeeze it up to where the toner residuance should be removed. No violance needed - just try harder until you see the paper is picking up toner - and you should be home free.

I found that the ghosting and recurring light, horizontal black lines across the page was due to a bad transfer belt. I thought is was the drum and replaced that but it didn't fix the problem. I initially inspected the transfer belt which did have a residual amount of toner on it that mirrored the horizontal smudges that I saw when printing. Carefully cleaning the belt and assembly did not fix the problem so I replaced it.
If you have already cleaned and replaced drums, cartridges and the unit. I suspect the Fuser unit which is at the back of the machine. You can remove it after unlatching the cover. Remove it and clean the Cylinder bar with a soft feather or with a soft brush but only when it's cooled. I would also recommend you to clean it once again. Open and remove the front paper tray, remove the fuser, remove all the cartridges and the drum, open up everything, take a blower (or you can use a vacuum cleaner), blow through the passage from front to back and from back to front or whatever you think of so that it will be cleaned internally.
After all these are done, reinstall everything and make sure all the components are seated properly.
Also, if you are printing of special papers like photo paper or label, please try it on plain paper or either way.
Let me know if the problem persists.
Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Above is a link for your manual.
This usually has to do with the image transfer drum, it needs to be replaced. To do this DIY, one must have a service manual to follow.

I have the same issue. It would be great if someone had an idea how to address, as Samsung has no idea.
