My Dyson DC65 is stuck in upright position and won't recline to vacuum. What can I do to fix it

The stand assembly needs to be carefully and thoroughly inspected to determine where it is binding or hanging up somewhere.

Dyson DC41, DC43, DC65 or DC66 - Removing a blockage from the wand or hose

If your Dyson DC41, DC43, DC65 or DC66 upright vacuum cleaner doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be through the hose, wand or cleaning tools, this may be due to a blockage. A blockage could occur if an item too big for the machine has been accidentally vacuumed up.

After turning off and unplugging the machine, please follow the steps shown in the video to locate and remove any obstructions from the wand, hose and changeover valve.

How do I get the handle to lower if it is stuck in the upright position? I have checked the hoses, no blockages.

Hi Becky, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you can't recline your DC65. I note you've mentioned there are no blockages in the hose, but it is worth double-checking there are no blockages in the internal changeover valve either:

If you continue to have issues after you've given this a try, please get in touch directly so our experts can provide further assistance. It sounds as if your machine should be well within the Dyson warranty period, so we should be able to arrange a repair if needed.

You can reach us by calling 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).

I have new Dyson dc65. The handle keeps falling apart. I have tried putting it together several times. What am I missing?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your new DC65's handle assembly. In case you haven't already followed each of the steps shown in our Getting Started guide, you might like to do so just to ensure everything has been correctly assembled:

Make sure that when you attach the handle to the main body, you push it firmly into place until you hear an audible click from the catch which secures it.

If you're confident you've followed the video correctly and continue to have issues with the handle, our experts will be happy to provide further assistance and help you resolve this. You can reach us directly by calling 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1800 239 766 (AU).

DYSON OWNERS MANUAL DC65 DC66

The user manual for the Dyson is only 9 pages. I cannot access one for the D66 for free. From the ad above, the manual for the DC65 must be similar. There is also a uTube around which addresses unclogging hoses for dysons. The first link above hopefully shows you about the accessories, anyway.
