I'm sorry to hear you can't recline your DC65. I note you've mentioned there are no blockages in the hose, but it is worth double-checking there are no blockages in the internal changeover valve either:

The user manual for the Dyson is only 9 pages. I cannot access one for the D66 for free. From the ad above, the manual for the DC65 must be similar. There is also a uTube around which addresses unclogging hoses for dysons. The first link above hopefully shows you about the accessories, anyway.
