Ps2 just blink red does not turn on

  • If the power light on the front of the system is flashing red, or alternately flashing red or green, this may indicate the PlayStation 2 system may need service. Contact Consumer Services below.

With the PS2 Slim, when I start the system there just appears a black screen. No configuration menu or gameplay shows up. Whether a game is in the system or not, the problem persists. I need help.

It sounds like the video/audio input on the console is either not plugged in, the TV isn't set to the right input, or the input is malfunctioning. I'd try making sure all of the connections are plugged in securely on both the system and the TV, and cycling through all of your TV's inputs.

Ps2 shuts and starts blinking red light

To confirm: red light blinking does mean that the console is overheating, which I know from experience.

Solution: Do not leave on carpet or any materials similar as they insulate. If possible, leave the console vertical instead of horizontal and this will help cool the system. Better yet, if you can still find one, a USB fan that plugs onto the front of your grill.

Hope this helps.

My ps2 runs for ten mins then shuts off

Feel it and see if it's hot, It may be overheating. If so they have small fans that you plug into the usb port in the front.

PS2 hangs

It might just be the game if that's the only one giving you problems. I have Shining Force Neo, and occasionally it will lag so bad I'll have to wait several minutes before I can resume gameplay. It seems to be a problem with the game itself, not your system.
