Hello. My playstation 2 slimline has trouble running games that begin with a video. The ps2 can load up to the main menu just fine but when it comes to starting missions it goes to standby phrase. (green power light goes to red) Now heres the tricky part, this only occurs when a video is played beforehand to the actual gameplay. Missions that start gameplay immediately can run great. I have tried wiping my discs and tried different power outputs. Any advice would be great. Remember that this is a PS2 Slimline and it only malfunctions when a video is played before the gameplay.
It might be a problem in the wiring which would have to be fixed by an expert. also you could tey cleaning the disk tray using a compressed air can. you can find these cans at most place like walmart or electronic stores.
