Lost 120 volts on coachmen Somerset dreamcatcher 32.5 while hooked up to power pole. still have 12 volts.all converter fuses and power panel circuit breakers good. Power from pole is good.

First, I'm not a Coachmen RV Tech. (but most DC to AC inverters are not brand specific.)
* Check inverter fuse (on actual inverter frame). Replace.
* Check DC voltage at inverter. Should be 12 (or 24 VDC) depending on your system battery supply and inverter.
* Check the DC cable connections; crusty, dirty? Cut all power. Remove and clean terminals. Re-connect and check.
* DC okay? Check 110 VAC power at output of inverter. No power? Replace inverter. (possible power spike damaged it or it over heated)
* 110 VAC okay? Check the power panel breakers. If stuck in middle then turn all the way off to reset and turn all the way back on to activate. Check AC power at outlet(s)
* Still no power (at outlet)? Check all outlets. If some still works then there is a problem with the power (wires) distribution. You will need an electrician to trace the wires back to the break in circuit.
* Be safe. check your warranty and call for service.
* Note; your inverter may be on a separate warranty.

No output from power supply

Hi,

I am assuming that you are very familiar with electronic circuitry and components, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. In the absence of a schematic diagram, and since you have perform initial voltage checks, perhaps you can wing it. Your "brick" will have to follow the basic design of an SMPS (switch mode power supply). Simply stated,an SMPS is an AC to DC to high freq AC then to lo V DC converter. Per your post, you have checked that there is DC (B+) from the AC mains, then what is needed is to check if there is oscillation to produce the high freq AC. Often design calls for an optical coupler, a small rectangular looking component with four pins, two at each end. This is nothing more than a LED and a Light Dependent transistor. Its function is to switch/trigger on the oscillation (and therefore start the SMPS producing the lo B+s).

Again, since there is no readily available schematic diagram, might I suggest that you post back the part numbers of the ICs and transistors. What we can do is pull out their spec/data sheets and/or application diagrams. Such would give us a general idea of the working voltages at what pins and what each component is supposed to do. Example, let us say your power supply uses a 817A/0635 opti coupler and/or an SG5841DZ controller IC, then we can search for them as initially described.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

After programming irritrol auto watering system I push the function switch to run and it turns the watering time to off so nothing happens. Voltage at the 24 volt terminal is 13.2 volts, however when

The typical lousy power source for this system is likely defective. They will normally rise to 140-150% of nominal voltage (24V) and settle around the required voltage when loaded.
Check the supply (if separate) for a rating of voltage and current; for example: "24VDC/XXMa" where the 'XX' is the current that will either be in milliamperes or amperes.
To correctly measure the voltage, you must know first if it's output is AC or DC.

If this is a DC supply, it probably has a failed diode, if AC, the transformer is bad.

A less likely, but possible problem, is that the programmer itself has an internal failure and is overloading the supply.

If you have a meter with a separate 10A jack, and you can interrupt either side of the supply line, try measuring the load current.
This will however, only be possible if the 10A can measure both AC and DC or if you know that the supply output is DC.

hi,the first thing to check with this kind of problem is the power supply section.this requires opening of the back cover. If you are handy with electronics you can check the voltage present at the power board by using a digital multimeter..

here's the procedure,
Use a philip screw driver to unscrew the cover.once the cover is remove, you can immediately see the power supply board .Powe supply board is where the power cord is connected(make sure to unplug the unit before proceeding)
check the fuses, set the tester to resistance or continuity test.test the fuse you must have a reading of 0000 this means that fuse is good OC means fuse is open.replace the fuse with the same type of amperage it is printed on the fuse...
If the fuse are ok,check for the voltage output of the power board.voltage are as follows,
5 volts DC supply for the mainboard
12volts DC for the audio board
24 volts DC for the screen
when all this voltages are present problem could be on tha mainboard itself and needs a replacement.

If one of the voltages fails then you need to repair the power board check and replace all bulging capacitors and open resistors.you can also replace the whole powerboard It is available online at shoppejimmy.com
good luck and let me know how it goes..

Will not come on

Hello bad minton 2 hi, check the common things first.
1. power cable, make sure its good. 2. AC mains outlet. 3. Loose AC port connection of the power cable. 4. Power switch.
If all is OK. problem is the main power supply board. Now you may need to open the back cover. Caution: this should be done by a pro. 1. Check the fuse for open. if open proceed if not go to 3. 2. Check now for shorts like diodes and transistors. 3. Check for voltage outputs. you need a manual or diagram for this. 4. To check for voltage readings, you need a multitester for this: 4a. check the ac 110/220 volts entering the power supply module. check the cable. 4b. check the dc output from the filter capacitor. no output, check the fuse or fusing resistor. diodes 4c. now the voltages at the VCC line after the regulator. If no readings problem with the switching circuit. Note this is not as simple as you think. have a tech guy do the work if you cant find the problem.

Lambda ews600-18 voltage goes down.

there is a short circuit protection and overoad protection to smps so o/p capacitor may short or secondary diode may short .so check voltage at primary when switched off after 33seconds whether switching process is going or not for that check dc volt at i/p capacitor then check volt at collector of transistor if metr shows 1digit then switching is going if not then meter shows full dc volt check component near about that

Have a 24 volt dc motor. (34 amps) Supply is 24

Hi, you should not have to, the motor spec is max current draw, maybe when stalled, the supply is a theoretical maximum so you will be fine, in case of faults a breaker or fuse rated at 35 amps would be good.
